Prompt: "Hello, you magnificent being."
"Hello, you magnificent being!" Luna smiled at the Thestral foal that shyly approached the blonde girl that stood in between the trees near the herd. It obviously was torn between being curious and cautious as it came closer only very slowly, sometimes turning its head to look at its mother who appeared to be very relaxed – of course the older Thestrals were used to humans and did not see Luna as a threat to her foal.
After a few moments, the foal allowed Luna to stroke its back and slowly, the young girl drifted away into her own thoughts.
The reason why she was here, once again, kind of hiding from the world, was more than clear – this morning, she had found out that her Defense Against the Dark Arts essay, on which she had been working very hard, was missing, on the day she had to hand it in.
Of course she was not the type of person who would fuss about this openly, or show the blameworthy people that they had hurt her.
No, Luna was just being friendly anyways, calm, as if nothing had happened, or that she at least did not care that much.
But well, in her head, things looked different sometimes. Thoughts were the only thing that could be hidden completely from the world all around her and so nobody knew what was really going on in her mind sometimes.
They would come from the darkest and most hidden corners of her mind. Most of the time she herself would be unaware of them, think that they had gone away...
But when she had encountered an especially mean action, they would appear again. These dark feelings, thoughts of revenge...
All of these would scare her sometimes, as she normally would never wish that something horrible would happen to her bullies, that they once would experience something similar too. That they would feel how it was to be suggested that your personality, your whole being was wrong, that you did not fit in because you were different. How much it did sting every time when she was being laughed at, or ignored because everybody feared that they could become a target too if they spent time with her. Luna wanted them to know how it was to be alone, without any friends...
Luckily, there would always be something that would pull Luna out of these dark thoughts again - the knowledge that she was not really completely alone.
Ginny, yes, Ginny was the only person that could be considered a friend, the only one who did not only see Luna's odd sides, who was friendly to her and who would sit with her whenever they had classes together.
And then, Luna would feel better again.
