Yeah...I've been dead for, what, two months? Well, here's me making my comeback :D Now, let's just hope this sudden burst of motivation lasts...'^_^ Anyways, a little drabble for everyone. Enjoy!

Trim
"Why did they have to give me a rookie..?" Rukia asked herself, thoroughly examining her new look in the mirror. She had gone to the shop wanting a trim, and a trim only. However, the girl who had been given the assignment of cutting her hair was fresh out of training, and shaking nervously at the prospect of grooming one of the 'honorable Kuchikis.' One little slip of the scissors later, and there was a whole chunk of hair missing from the back of her head. She ended up coming out of that place with a few inches off her already short dark locks.
And, to say it was annoying her was an understatement. It wasn't really an issue of how it made her look, but having had the same hairstyle since childhood, she was obsessively looking at herself in a hand mirror, attempting to catch every little thing that now looked different, and trying to get used to the new style.
"I don't see what you're complaining about," came an extremely familiar male voice. Renji appeared in the mirror behind her at the same time she heard him, and she snapped around to be met with his tall form towering over her, even as he bent over. "It looks nice," he continued, standing to his full height and flashing her a characteristic smirk. "Don't kill yourself over it."
"Easy for you to say," said Rukia, turning back around to face her mirror, though still being able to see her friend in the reflection. "You didn't have someone chop your hair off just like that."
But you didn't even have that much hair in the first place... thought the redhead, however he resolved to digress. "Some change is good, it's healthy. I think you were overdue for a little. I mean, look how much I've let my hair grow out."
"And yet, you're still butt ugly," joked Rukia, smiling at her retort as she watched for his reaction in the mirror. Internally, she thought, Overdue for some changes? So what, the oaf doesn't think becoming a lieutenant is change enough?
For some reason, though, Renji just brushed the comment off, leaning down and discreetly whispering to her, "Well, I've never heard you complainin' about it." And with that he walked off, a satisfied grin on his face, as Rukia was forced to watch the pink shade of blush that crept up her cheeks. She buried her face in the hand mirror, trying to hide her embarrassment even though he had left.
"Really, though," he shouted, making her alert to his words, "it looks nice." And she let a smile grace her features as she heard the comment.
Eh...maybe a little change wasn't always bad.

Am I the only one who's in love with Renji and Rukia's new hairstyles? I used to think, 'Man, those guys are some of the only characters who's hair hasn't changed, EVER.'
