"Do me a favor, Perry, and turn that way." Jordan directed a finger behind the confused man who reluctantly moved his head towards the empty cafeteria line. The woman seated across from him moved her hand down to her cup of coffee and lifted the hot cup to her lips. She let out a smooth sound of pleasure.

"Thanks. I just couldn't stand drinking this with your ugly mug staring at me." The curly-haired doctor turned to face the she-devil, a chuckle came out with the impatient taps of his foot. He did that ridiculous thing with his mouth where words came out. Words that the brunette had commonly tuned out.

"Oh, give me a break, I can't even keep my food down when you're around." A frown tugged at her glossed lips as she lowered the mug and continued working on the papers she needed to review for tomorrow's board meeting. Something inside her had been nudged repeatedly from the harsh compliment and the previous insults thrown her way. And hit had finally awaken. Her pen stopped mid-sentence. Her mouth opened slightly and her chocolate eyes stayed locked on the stack of files. The woman licked her lips.

"Are you on call tonight?" The question had managed to slide off her tongue. She fiddled with the handle of the blue coffee cup in her hands. Did she sound too desperate? Her gaze shot to her somewhat shocked ex-husband who was about to spout something completely ridiculous out of his mouth again but she didn't give him the chance. "Don't think I enjoy your company. I just bought bottles of scotch and I just don't like getting drunk by myself." Her fingers tapped against the porcelain. Her expression sank a little but in a more angered way. "I don't need a repeat of that night in New York." She shuddered at the humiliating memory.

Silence spread between the two for quite some time. Jordan sighed. She regretted even asking the stubborn man, like he'd want to-

"Sure."

The sun must have shone in her eyes for how quickly they lit up at the simple agreement. Yeah, that was it. She quickly grabbed her cup of caffeine and collected her papers and stood from the table. She turned her back to the man and left to go somewhere where he wasn't. She brought the rim to her mouth and took another sip. It was the only thing to keep her from smiling.

A/N- I have been HOOKED on Scrubs ever since I began watching it on Netflix. This story doesn't follow the exact storyline but I had to write it anyways cause I love Jordan. (I think I'm just starting or ending season 6)
