Hermione was dancing with Victor Krum at Bill and Fleur`s wedding. They had been talking about their lives since the Triwizard Tournament but had gradually come to a companionable lull and settled for just dancing to the music. Throughout each and every one of the dances Hermione couldn't help but glance at Ron-the one she truly wished to be with at the moment but couldn't gather the courage to.

After yet another glance the world around her started to fade leaving her with just the music and her own mind….

Music was softly floating through the air –the twinkling of piano, the nimble sound of a guitar being strum, the elegant flow of the violins, and the subtle beats of drums.

She stepped down the grand, curving marble in the most stunning red dress you ever saw with gold trim, a full skirt and a corset. Her hair was in a loose bun with tresses of loose brunette curls framing her face perfectly. She looked as if she had just stepped out of a fairytale, and she –Hermione Granger– were the princess.

When Hermione took the last step of the staircase, she was greeted by non-other than her ginger haired Prince Charming. He offered his arm and asked in the smoothest, most heavenly voice, "May I have this dance Milady?"

"You may my good sir," she whispered with the faintest of smiles saved just for him.

He led her to the center of the ballroom and with one hand on her waist and the other in hers they danced. He twirled, spun, and dipped her as they went round and round in circles to the music with envious eyes on them.

As the violins faded with the end of the song Hermione`s prince slowly brought her up from the last dip, bringing her to him until their lips touched in a timid gentle kiss, "Be mine Hermione?"

"Always my dear Prince Ronald," She uttered loud enough for only him to hear then kissing him once more.

"Hermy-own-ninny!"

"Wha?" Hermione asked hazily after being shaken from her daydream.

"You were thinking about him weren't you Hermy-own-ninny?" Victor asked as with a rueful smiled.

"Thinking about whom?" Hermione asked blushing looking at her feet in embarrassment.

"Ronald, you have been looking at him since we started dancing," He told her with a weak smile. "Is there something between you two?"

"What? No, no. We're just friends; nothing more, nothing less," She told him though it sounded like she was trying to convince herself more than Victor.

"Hermy-own-ninny, you said 'Always my dear Prince Ronald.' That is not just nothing," Victor said with a smile that didn't reach his eyes.

"I said that out loud?" Hermione asked out loud thoroughly embarrassed.

"Only I heard. You like him don't you?"

With a small wistful smile she said, "Yeah, I do." However her smile soon turned to a soft frown, "But still, we're just friends."

Before Victor could respond Ron came up and whisked Hermione away to dance.

Not for long Hermy-own-ninny, not for long.

With that last thought Victor walked off the dance floor leaving Hermione to be a princess with Ron as her ginger haired prince.
