Our God is
Abounding… in goodness, truth, mercy, and love. It's said more than once. Justice, righteous, all-powerful, judge, and defender. In anyone else this would be a paradox, but its all a part of this powerful being we are called to
Worship… we were made for something greater than ourselves. We were made to adore this God. He placed us where we are, hoping that we would reach out to Him and find Him. See, He desires relationship with us more than anything.
Except… God is holy, without sin, perfect in everyway. Because He is all that is good, nothing evil can be in his presence. We are human, not divine. Perfection is not in our nature. In order to be in relationship with holy God we must be holy. So God did something incredible, He became
Savior… Jesus Christ, God in the flesh. Because His love was so great he wanted to give us an exemption to our Except, and give us a path to acceptance. Since the beginning of time this plan was in place. However, with the absolution came an
Option… The same chapter that talks about love and eternal life also speaks about condemnation and the consequence of rejecting truth. But see this wouldn't be in there if we didn't have a choice. God loves and respects us too much to force anything we don't want, because forced love isn't love at all. But this is really neat in that the
Maker… of the entire universe, the star breathing God cares enough to give us that option. Here's why we should care. This God got down in the dirt and formed man with his hands and then the mouth that spoke this world into existence breathed life into our very beings. No other God did that and then continued to have a positive, active role, in our history; or provide us a way to have a lasting relationship with Him that did not rely on our own efforts. See here's the really cool thing about God, the one that gets me every time. He's
Enduring… The same yesterday, today, and forever. The one who was, is, and is yet to come. The I AM, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, neither faints nor is weary. He gives power to those who need it and strength to those who lack. He will be with us always, until the end. And when he returns and establishes His throne on earth His kingdom will have no end.
The whole world could not hold all the books that could be written about God. He is immense, eternal, and indescribable. There is only one word that really says everything about Him: Jehovah God is truly Awesome!
