October 8, 1893

Booker DeWitt woke up with a pounding headache. His nose had been bleeding, pretty badly too, but he didn't mind that now. Something else was on his mind.

"Anna." Booker said, standing up quickly. He headed toward a door that opened into a makeshift nursery.

"Anna?" Booker asked as he opened the door. "Anna, is that you?"

He didn't know why he was asking where Anna was or if it was actually her. Where else could a baby go? Who else could she be?

"It depends on which version you want to see." someone said from behind the door. Booker instinctively ran to Anna's crib to protect the child who was sleeping in oblivion. Booker, however, was now facing a young woman who was in the corner next to the door. The young woman looked at the crib intently and had no emotion in her face. She scared Booker (how could she have gotten in without him knowing? The door was always locked) but somehow she was just as familiar to him.

"Who are you?" Booker asked. "What are you doing in here, we're closed."

The young woman rolled her eyes a little and walked closer toward Anna's crib. Booker moved out of the way involuntarily and the young woman softly stroked the head of baby Anna.

"G-get away from her." Booker ordered the young woman, not sure why she scared him so much. Was it because she looked so familiar? She looked at him and Booker had to do all that it took for him not to shiver.

"I'm not going to hurt her Mr. DeWitt." the young woman said in a voice that wasn't nice, but not particularly nasty either. "I'm just... saying good bye."

Booker looked at the young woman. She simply stared at him back. Something in her eyes reminded him of...

"Doors were closed Mr. DeWitt," the young woman then said, almost to herself, "And yet, some are still wide open. Does this mean anything to you?"

"Yeah." Booker told her. "It means it's high time for you get the hell out of my office and far away from my daughter."

The young woman thought about this for a moment, then nodded her head in agreement.

"Alright." she agreed. She then waved her hand and a large portal appeared behind her. Booker nearly fell over in shock as the young woman then proceeded to begin to walk through the portal.

"Take care of her Mr. Dewitt." the young woman said as the portal began to close. "You're not going to have another chance after this."

Booker watched in fascination as the portal completely closed, leaving the young woman behind it. For a few moments, he just stared at the spot where the portal had been, then looked back at baby Anna. Amazingly, she was still asleep after all of that, but it gave Booker a breath of relief. She was safe, for now at least.
