"Gran Gran!"
Katara trekked as fast as she could go on the slippery ground to embrace Kanna tightly.
"Katara," she greeted happily, chuckling. "It's so good to see you."
Katara released the hug and put an arm around Aang's shoulders. "You remember Aang?"
"Of course I do." She smiled sweetly.
"Hello." Aang bowed in the traditional way.
"I can't believe you are all finally back," Kanna said.
"And I can't believe how much my warriors have grown!" Sokka half squealed.
They followed Sokka's gaze to see small children chasing each other with small plastic spears clenched in their fisted hands. One boy ran up to another and tripped before he got to him and everyone laughed as Sokka shot them an offensive look.
The sun was setting and soon the moon was going to be illuminating the sky as the evening wore on. A small open fire that had been burning all day in the middle of the Water Tribe village was suddenly snuffed out by a sudden burst of precipitation.
Unknown to the Water Tribe village it had immediately ceased to snow at the South Pole since the defeat of ex-Phoenix King Ozai and now one month later it had commenced to fall in beautiful, unique snowflakes that drifted to the ground. Kanna who was sitting near the fire looked up to the sky and smiled.
Meanwhile, Aang was sitting amongst many penguins that waddled past him uninterested of his existence. He felt the soft touch of snow on his shoulder and smiled also.
He was waiting patiently for Katara so that they could relive what ensued when they first met through penguin sledding. One of the chicks made a trilling sound and Aang copied contently and laughed.
"Aang, you must be freezing out here," a voice spoke behind him.
He turned around and grinned at Katara sheepishly and shrugged.
"Here, take this," she offered.
Katara took off a jacket revealing her many other warm clothes and went to drape it around Aang when he abruptly jumped up.
"No thanks, I don't want to wear something made from an…animal," he refused.
"Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to offend you."
"Don't worry, you didn't."
He takes her gloved hand in his and they stare into each other eyes. They slowly begin to lean in for a kiss, but before their lips touch a muffled yell is heard.
"Watch out!"
And just in time they jump apart as a penguin with a teenage boy on its back comes riding past through the middle of them. He shouts behind him, "You were right, this is fun." And as he turns around he smashes into a hill covered in snow, which inevitably covers him from head to toe.
Katara and Aang look back at each other and roll their eyes. "Come on let's get inside."
They walk hand in hand back to Kanna's small hut as the snow continues to fall.
Just something fun I thought I'd write to keep the Avatar ff alive! Personally, I could've written it better but I just couldn't work out how exactly :P Review if you would like and thanks to SarphirArya.
