From Booth's POV
I don't own Bones
Booth was relaxing in his apartment with Bones watching 'Forensic Detectives' of all things. Though, Booth enjoyed watching Bones more than the programme. He looked across at his partner who had her feet stretched out on the coffee table and she seemed to be rubbing her neck. She had only recently gotten over the whole ordeal with Zack and was getting back to her usual self.
"Hey Bones are you okay?" Booth asked Bones while she continued to rub her neck.
"Yeah just my neck and shoulders are really sore today. I think I slept funny last night" she explained sitting up and put her legs back on the ground.
I can be a very good masseuse Booth thought to himself with a grin
Bones was giving him a look as if he new he was up to something.
"Why are you grinning like that?" Bones asked immediately
"Oh nothing, I just happen to be an excellent masseuse" Booth replied voicing his earlier thoughts.
Bones rolled her eyes but he could tell she would give in eventually. She was still rubbing her neck.
"Come on you know you want one!" Booth continued to pester her.
"Alright, Alright!" She said giving into him. Then she turned around so her back was to him.
Booth took a deep breath and slowly placed both his hands on her shoulders.
Damn why did he have to fall so much in love with her. He mentally kicked himself.
Then he slowly rubbed his thumbs in a circular pattern and could feel her relax after a couple of minutes.
"That is helping" Bones said in almost a whisper.
It took all his restraint not to turn her around and kiss her.
Suddenly he felt two hands grip his own while they were still on her shoulders and he took another deep breath.
Could she read his thoughts?
"What, what are you doing Bones?" Booth asked stuttering.
Booth carefully took his hands out from hers and got her to face him again.
"Booth I've tried to deny it to myself that we are just partners. But it just isn't working. They way you put your hand on back to guide me somewhere, that smile of yours. How you protect me no matter what." She said placing her hand on his cheek and he held her other hand again.
"The way you stole my Mum's earring from the crime scene even though you could have lost your job. The way you told me to go with Sully and put my happiness before yours"
Booth had a "How did she know that?" look on his face.
" That's what Angela said anyway. The way you got a tree for us at Christmas and you took a bullet for me. The way you call me Bones. I really love that " Bones said finishing with a smile and wiped a tear from her eye.
He was in shock.
Did she love him?
"Bones do you lo…?" he started to ask her but he was cut off by her lips on his.
Now he really thought he must be dreaming. He deepened the kiss as they fell back on the couch.
They broke apart after a couple of minutes and Bones shyly looked up at him.
"What has gotten into you?" Booth questioned her.
"Well when you "died" it made me think about things. What I've been denying myself of and I realised why I was so angry when I wasn't told that you were alive and yes I do love you" Bones answered.
He flashed her one of his charm smiles. Unable to believe everything that she had just confessed.
"I love you too. So much. So you wanna sleep over tonigh?t" He asked winking at her.
"I was hoping you'd say that" she replied playfully punching him on the shoulder.
They were definitely in for a fun night.
