It was everywhere. The crimson coated everything. A little splatter here and a drenched Turk there. The entire alley was coated with a fresh paint job.
Drip...
Aqua eyes, shocked, were the only color other than the red. The mans heart thudded. The organ a calling card for the heartless.

So much blood. The aroma was overwhelming. Reno couldn't focus. Gasping, trembling. His fear rendered him mute. He couldn't call out.
HELP ME!
Vivid red hair hung limp, unbound. If only he could scream, beg, plead for one last embrace. IF only...Squall...
Drip
Blood. Death. He was surrounded. Beady eyes bore into his soul. Desiring to devour his heart whole. He was paralyzed with fear. Where was Squall? Hadn't the man always promised to be there? Did he abandon the Turk? No, he wouldn't do that.
Drop
Leon wasn't here. In a way Reno was glad. Squall wasn't part of that pile of corpses. He wasn't another number in the body count.
D.R.I.P.
How had the heartless gotten so many people?
"Reno!"
Drop.
That horrifying beast was going to get him. The Darkside wanted to rip him to shreds. Just. Like. Them. The giant shadow loomed.
Drip.
He'd never seen so much blood.
"Snap out of it!"
Crazy? He had to be. That voice, where did it come from? ...Who?
"Reno!"
The blinding red seemed to vanish. It was like it'd never painted the walls. Perhaps it hadn't. The beast, the corpses, where did they go?
"Come on dumbass."
That voice. He knew it. The red was replaced with blue. Blue. It was freeing. Where had the massacre gone? "Squall?" His voice was strained.
"It's Leon."
A small smile grew. Had it just been a hallucination? The heartless hadn't been real. He glared at Squall's outstretched hand. "Y'know I'll call you whatever I want, yo." Blue had saved him. "Got it Squall?" He ignored the worry in the other's eyes. He wasn't crazy.

Alright so here's my first story on LJ. For the Thirteen Fears Challenge I plan on updating each one separately.
I hope no one cares that I took my own artistic liberty and brought Reno into the Kingdom Hearts Universe. Also if you don't like the pairing I don't care, please do not bash it.
