Jade hated silence. Where she lived, the birds were chirping almost all the time. Animals were making strange noises. The winds were blowing constantly.

But here, in what used to be his room, it was quiet. Not even the nakodiles made a sound tonight. However, there was something that broke the hated silence. Slow breathing.

She looked down at the body next to her. His light orange hair was swept over his eyes and his slightly glowy complexion was beautiful in the soft light. She sighed deeply and wondered why it had happened here, now.

She felt like she loved him. He felt like he loved her. It should have been perfect.

But something didn't feel right. It didn't feel right because, no, she knew deep down that this wasn't him. This wasn't the same guy she had fallen in love with way before the game.

She stood up, careful not to wake her sleeping partner, and collected her clothes that were strewn across the floor. She dressed quickly, and walked out, shutting the door quietly behind her. She needed time to think.

Jade hated silence. But for the moment, silence would suffice.
