Bwaha! Yeah. It was inevitable. I do not own FMA and if I did, the closet would feel the RoyEd love. XDD yeah shoot me. I do own this though! No touchies...

Railroad tracks

The motion of the train was comforting to Edward. 5-years of traveling on trains and he'd become more accustomed to the swaying and rattling of the wheels and the spouts of steam that buffeted past the window that sometimes... when he woke up, he wondered what had happened and why it was so quiet.

Roy could never understand how the 17-year-old could just go with the flow of the trains, even when they stopped or ran over something and the whole carriage jostled and jerked Edward just flowed with the motion. The Brigadier General would sit ramrod straight on the green leather seats feeling very uncomfortable and looking out of the window at the passing scenery. Just like now.

The raven haired male folded his arms, sweating from the heat in his military uniform and staring out of the window at the passing country side, trying desperately to ignore the many stares he was receiving from the other passengers. It wasn't often you saw a military official of such a high rank on one of the economy carriages. They usually had their own private cabins. And they were usually with other military people, but this man was on his own with only a short blonde in a red coat for company. And he was asleep.

Roy gritted his teeth as he felt someone else watching him before blinking in surprise as something warm slid onto his shoulder cuddling into the kook of his side. Looking down he smiled fondly lifting a few strands of blonde hair from Edward's sleeping face.

Contrary to popular belief, sleeping-Edward seemed to make up for vibrantly-alive-loud-determined-passionate-Edward while he was asleep, he slept like a log, neither twitching nor snoring or squirming in his sleep. Which meant he wasn't a blanket hogger and nor did he kick or beat up helpless, innocent (coughhackhowsRoyinnocent?raspchoke) sleeping bedmates while dreaming. This had once led to an amusing situation where Fury thought Edward had actually died in the library, slumped over his books.

Roy removed his military jacket and slung it over Edward like a blanket, the short blonde muttering something resentful about milk and paperwork as he did so. Smiling at his little Alchemist Roy cuddled him closer and stared out of the window.

Maybe trains weren't so bad after all.

XDD forgive me. I couldn't resist a train scene! And it is so cute, you must feel the love! XDD Many thanks to my brother and his wife (YES THEY GOT MARRIED LAST October! EEE IT WAS SO KYUTTE! And I don't use that word when describing my brother. At all. Ever.) for the inspiration on this piece. I might do some other one-shots but for now... yeah, this one might have to be my only one.
