1. Broken

My entire world had ended in a few seconds. You're not good for me Bella. These words ended my entire life, future and existence, those words rang in my ears torturing me, the hole in my chest where my heart used to be throbbed. It was broken, I was broken.

Looking in the mirror, I blinked violently, trying to stop the tears that were falling from my eyes. I looked at my ravaged appearance. The dark circles showed my sleepless night and my bloodshot eyes the result of unstoppable tears, my dark hair stuck and knotted to the side of my face. Gone. Forever. He doesn't love me anymore. A timid knock on my door sent my heart crashing against my ribs and I fell to my knees sobs erupting from my chest.

'It's okay Bells, I'm here' , I didn't respond, just sobbed- heavy ripping sounds from the inside of my chest, from my broken heart.

'Dad?'

'Yeah Bells?'

'I-i-i-i'm sorry'

'It's okay hon, don't be' he kissed my hair and brushed it from my eyes

'I love you Dad'

'Yeah...' he looked at me awkwardly, embarrassed 'i love you too Bella'

We sat on the floor for what seemed like an eternity, Charlie cradling me in his lap as i cried for the loss of him. The sound of Charlie's voice awoke me from the flood of tears and emotions that threatened to drown me.

'I'm sorry Bells, I gotta go' he paused, contemplating.

'Take the day off, get some sleep,' he paused 'and I'll see you tonight.' He kissed my forehead and gently pulled himself from my grasp. I noticed the shirt he was wearing was stained and ruined from my tears.

When Charlie had left, i lay my cheek against the cold floor and did nothing to stop my tears. I must have fallen asleep because i didn't notice the time changing. The next thing i heard was Charlie's worried voice

'Oh god Bella, i shouldn't have left you' he pulled me up from the floor and hugged me to his chest.

'Its fine dad i-i fell asleep' the words were a blur. He placed me on the bed and left me there. While i lay there without sleep i heard him on the phone

'Hi, Doc'

'No, she's no better – worse I'd say'

'Yeah, I'll keep you up to date' he paused 'I just don't know what to do'

I didn't catch the rest of the conversation.
