Thalico ;)
Thalia POV
I stare at the pictures of my friends back at camp half-blood, Annabeth, Percy, Grover, Nico. Nico I trace his face with my finger, I miss him the most.
"Thalia, it is time to eat." Artemis says and I slam my locket shut. I get up and come out of my tent to see the Hunters all sitting around a big fire and a tear runs down my cheek.
"I can't do this." I say and all heads turn to face me, "I- I can't do this anymore. I quit the Hunters." I announce more tears spilling out and I take off running into the forest, bow still on my back.
By nightfall the next day I reach camp, twigs and leaves in my hair. I see a mop of blond girls and I keep running past he magical barrier until I reach her.
"Annabeth!" I yell and she turns, her face lints up and she hugs me,
"Thals! Hey! I didn't know the Hunters were coming. I better tell Chiron." she says and turns,
"Annabeth. The Hunters aren't here. I quit. I couldn't take it anymore."
"What!?" Annabeth shouts her voice not angry but surprised.
"I quit" I whisper and take off for Zeus's cabin, slamming the door behind me. Throwing myself onto the bed I bury my head in the pillow, tears overflowing.
Awhile later someone knocks at my door,
"Thals, We need your help." I here Annabeths voice calls as the door opens, I sit up knowing my makeup is a mess.
"What?"
"It's Nico." I go stiff, "He won't let anyone near him. An- And he's going to kill himself." She explains bawling, Percy moves in to comfort her, and I'm already gone. I follow the big group of kids to find him wit his back to a major drop off, so close that one step would send him off the edge and into t he rocks below.
"Nico Di Angelo!" I yell thoroughly put up, "Get away from that edge!" campers hurry to move out of my way, as electricity crackles around me. Nico looks up stunned, his eyes bloodshot and teary, and then I remember what day it is. Bianca's birthday. I turn to the enlarging crowd.
"Scatter!" and to prove I mean business I send a bolt of lightning two inches in front of the nearest camper and they run off screaming. My voice turns soft,
"Nico" I say as he steps forward and crumbles into me, crying so hard that it shakes me.
"Shh baby," I try to calm him, smoothing down his black hair and slide down a tree so that we're sitting.
"I-it- it's-" she stutters choking for air,
"I know, now breath." he takes a deep breath and leans against me. His tears stop and I use my thumbs to wipe the remaining ones from his face.
"Thalia?"
"Yeah"
"Why were you crying?" he asks his face sobering up quickly at the site of my jacked up makeup and red eyes.
"I- um-" I take a deep breath, "I quit the Hunters." Shock rules over his face, eyes widening,
"Why?"
"I just couldn't do it anymore." and we sit there in silence until the moon and stars are out.
We say goodbye and head back to our cabins, where I find sleep easily. I get a dream message from Artemis, the goddess appears in her Hunters uniform on her throne at Mount Olympus.
"Thalia Grace," she says softly looking straight at me, "I know the reason that you have left the Hunters. And we have all agreed that true love doesn't deserve to be punished. No matter if you break the vow with Nico you will have a spot with the Hunters if you choose to. Do you accept this?" she asks and I am taken aback by the offer, until I finally manage to choke out,
"Yes, I pledge myself to the Goddess Artemis. Accept eternal maidenhood, and join the Hunt." I say and the dream fades away.
