The Mockingbird saga lives! *evil cackle*
I decided I'd keep it going. So when I want to play with human Autobots, I can just refer to it, rather than come up with some other idea.
The Mockingbird Saga will end when* I decide to turn them back to normal.
(*read: if)
So, read the original oneshots (or at least read Mockingbird) for, I guess, the story thus far~!
The Great Watermelon Massacre
A lazy summer afternoon. It was a typical occasion while the small group of Autobots waited to return to normal. Today, however, was a treat.
Sam had come over, with a large, green sphere. Bumblebee had immediately grabbed it and looked it over, commenting on it's weight.
"Wh-what is-s it?" he finally asked, biting his lip.
"A watermelon."
"A water-what?" Ironhide frowned, having his arm pulled in all directions from a very attached, and every excited, Annabel.
"A watermelon, Ironhide!" the tiny girl exclaimed, pulling more on her "new best friend"'s arm. "C'mon! Let's get some!"
Ironhide, Bumblebee, Ratchet and Prime all watched as Sam began to carve into the melon.
"Wh-what's th-that r-red s-s-stuff?" Bumblebee asked, watching the red liquid collect onto the cutting board. Annabel giggled.
"It's watermelon juice. It comes from inside the watermelon!"
"Like blood?" Ratchet asked, making Bumblebee's face go pale.
"I-it's bleed-ding? S-sam! S-stop-p it!" The youngest Autobot lunged forward, grabbing Sam's hand. Sam cried out iin shock and before anyone could blink twice the six humans were on the ground , a busted watermelon and a bent knife were the only casualties. Bumblebee took to gazing sadly at the massacred melon. Annabel picked up a chunk on melon and started to pick out the seeds.
"Annabel, put that down! The five second rule has expired!" Ironhide snapped, reaching over to take the melon from the child.
After the mess was cleaned, Sam did his best to explain to Bumblebee that the watermelon wasn't "dead" or "dying". It was food.
"It's ... It's like a fly. A fly isn't sentient. It's job is to be annoying and reproduce."
Bumblebee said nothing as he continued to get taught, his face reddening with each realization that the watermelon wasn't alive.
Being human was hard sometimes.
