Midnight in the forest skirting a small town where the supernatural existed, all was calm in the forest, the sound of small mice scittered across the forest floor and an owl hooted lowly as a meeting of two races was held in front of an old cabin.

"Give us the child." a man's low voice demanded, his face shadowed by a hood, flanked by two other shadowed figures, fangs glinting in the full moon.

"Never!" another man spat, his wife holding his shoulders.

"You made a deal, you lying bitch!" a female spat from the shadowed man's side. "First girl belongs to us." she stated, trying her best not to attack.

"It's just what dogs do. Teach their bitches to lie." another male stated cockily, his red eyes scanning the two in front of them

"Talk about my mother like that again, you Blood-sucker, and You'll find yourself in your grave." a male wolf growled, jumping down from the ledge by the cabin where the man and wife stood.

"Oh look, the pet has come to play, sorry I don't have a stick for you to fetch." the boy snickered. A snarl ripped from the wolf's throat and he lept, aiming for the younger male but the woman getting in the way.

"Grab the child!" a baby's cry rang out as the sound of snarls and wolf barks shattered the calmness of the Onsam's cabin home. The pounding of paws crashed on the forest floor and another shill cry rang out. A shadow loomed over the makeshift crib, where a young girl cried and fussd, and in a blink, the fighting ceased and the shadowed figures, and the child, were gone.

The mother broke into tears and the father cursed as they noticed the empty crib. The young male wolf padded in, his head held low, then instantly was a teenager, his hands bloody as he stared at the empty crib.

"Who?"

"The female. I can't pick up any scent, the blood stench is clogging my senses." the boy stated regrettfully. "I have failed my baby sister father." he stated, kneeling and bowing his head.

"Adet is stronger than we believe. As long as they don't attempt to turn her. We should be ok." the mother stated calmly, worry eating at her heart.
