Location: Orbit around planet Earth.
All is quiet around Earth Orbital Defense station 3. It has been this way for several months now. Nothing ever showed on the scanners. The occupants of the station had been getting restless and cranky due to the lack of activity. Then, one day, contact with the station was completely lost. Contact with the other defense stations was also lost shortly afterwards. The tech officers at Terran Dominion HQ dismessed it as a temporary computer virus. Little did they know that mankind's darkest hour was soon to be upon them...
Chapter 1
Location: Planet Earth, somewhere in the Kanto region.
We join our "heroes"; Ash, Brock, and Misty; as they travel along the road to Ash's home of Pallet Town to pay Professor Oal a visit. We find Ash tied up in a heated Pokemon battle with another trainer.
"Pikachu! Go!" shouts Ash as he orders Pikachu, his little yellow electric mouse, into battle. Ash has just lost his Bulbasaur to a Fearow, so he was slightly pissed. He was confident that Pikachu could knock out the large bird. "Pikachu, use your thunderbolt!"
"Pika!" the little yellow mouse shouts as it leaps at the bird. It sends a large bolt of lightning its direction. The bolt connects and the Fearow plummets to the ground, charred black.
"Ah, fuck," mutters the other trainer. "I lost." He collects his Pokemon and walks off.
"Yahoo! I won again!" Ash shouts.
"Whoopde-fucking-doo," mumbles Misty, obviously not caring. She has been getting tired of Ash's excessive celebrating over his few scant victories. "How many wins is that for him?" she asks Brock.
"Ah, who gives a shit?" he responds. "It's not important anyway."
"Hey, I heard that!" Ash shouts as he walks back over to his friends. "Just to let you know, I've won more battles than the both of you combined."
"Whatever," Brock responds. "Let's just go to Pallet Town now." The group starts walking down the road to the town. As they walk, Ash reaches into his pocket to retrieve his Pokedex.
"I'm gonna check the news," he states. Ash flips a switch on the device and logs it onto the sattelite news network. He looks at the screen for few minutes. "Dude, listen to this!"
"What?" Misty asks.
"It says here that all of the Orbital Defense Stations have had a communication glitch and can't be contacted," Ash explains.
"So what does that have to do with us?" Brock asks.
"Well, what if aliens come to Earth and start trying to abduct people and we don't know because the sattelite comm systems are down?"
"I think that maybe you should lay off the pot Ash," Brock tells him.
"Hey, we're almost there," Misty interrupts. "Hey, the sign is broken."
"That's wierd," Brock asys. "What do you think happened Ash? Ash?" Ash is standing there staring wide-eyed at the destroyed remnants of his hometown.
