A/N: First God Eater story! Although, it's set in God Eater 2, there wasn't really an archive for it. ;_;

The stuff they will be saying is completely made up. I don't speak Japanese but since I love this game so much, I downloaded it raw.

A/N #2: The whole dialogue is most likely shorter than what's in-game. And probably a far cry from this.

Warning: Spoilers for those who haven't played the game. You've been warned.

Summary: It was the last time they were going to see him. Drabble. Julius x Fem! Protagonist

When she opened her eyes, she wasn't surprised to find herself, her teammates and Yuno at the rooftop garden in Friar, where, she remembered with painfully clear clarity, Romeo was buried. She took a deep breath, trying to calm the myriad of emotions rushing through her.

Nana blinked, surprised, "Why here?" and looked around. The others did the same as well. "Romeo's grave isn't here." The brunette God Eater muttered. Her eyes spotted an approaching figure and all thoughts promptly flew out of her battle-weary mind. "Guys." She whispered.

She felt their curious gazes on her back before they followed as to where her eyes landed (she may not have eyes on the back of her head, but she was used to the disgusted stares. Before Friar and Fenrir, she was a thug, stealing for food and her home, a tiny shack. Then Doctor Rachel found her and suddenly things looked bright for her).

Ciel, as well as the others surged forward, but there appeared to be a barrier separating them from the approaching figure. Her heart thudded painfully. Ciel stared at her, pain evident in her eyes. "Reika." She whispered, on the verge of tears. She could see the message. Bring him back, please. "I'll do my best."

He approached, and Nana brought her hands up, resting them on the barrier. "You were… You were a great leader, Julius!" She declared. He smiled in return. "Thank you, Nana… However, I can't go with you."

Yuno stepped forward, hesitant. "Julius… Are you sure about this?"

Julius nodded shortly. "Yes. I can't leave, so I'll fight." His expression was set in grim determination. He turned to Gilbert. "Gil, take care of them." The Charge Spear wielder nodded. "I will." He turned and slowly started to walk back. Ciel broke down, muffling her sobs in a gloved hand.

Nana knelt beside the white-haired God Eater. "Ciel-chan… Julius wouldn't want us to be sad. He can do this." She smiled sadly at Ciel.

Reika swallowed heavily, realizations making her chest tighten painfully. He wasn't going back. Julius wasn't going back. He couldn't go back. She shut her eyes, trying to will away the tears and barely succeeding. "Reika." He called her. She inhaled sharply and opened her eyes. He pressed his palm on the barrier. Ripples appeared across it. She reached her arm out and pressed her palm against the barrier. There was a brief flash of light and she heard his voice in her mind.

Be the leader I know you can be. His voice resonated against the walls of her mind.

She looked at Yuno for help. The pop idol nodded in encouragement.

She took a deep breath. I love you and I need you. Please don't go. She thought as response.

He smiled sadly. And I you. I'm sorry, Reika but I can't.

She couldn't stop a sob from escaping. Thank you. Goodbye, Julius.

Arrivederci, mi amor.

And he cut off the link, removing his hand from the barrier.

-The Italian bit was partly due to my belief that Julius is Italian, because of his name.

-I also think that Julius is secretly a romantic, hence the phrase.

It means: "Goodbye, my love."
