Lee ran until his feet were ablaze with waves of agony. How could anybody do that to him? Was he not a good student? Had he not trained hard enough? Tears stung at his eyes but still he kept running, he couldn't let anyone see him like this... he needed time to... figure things out.

He loved Sakura! Why had he been so stupid? Why, why, WHY! He should have known... he shouldn't have left himself so vulnerable like that... it was all his fault. He could tell no one.

Lee ran until he was far from the village, far from his troubles, far from the cause of his tears, far from... Gai-sensei.

He stopped at last. He could run no further. He collapsed onto the ground next to a tree and cried into his hands, he could do nothing but curse himself for being so naive. He should have expected... he should have known... but Gai was his TEACHER! He was meant to be his protector... mentor... but now, THIS?

Suddenly, Lee heard a sound in the tree above him, he shot up and wiped his eyes. No one, not even enemies, especially not friends, could see him like this. He cursed himself for running so far from the village, what if this was an ambush? Suddenly, his pursuer jumped down from the tree, it was... Gai-sensei. Lee let out a surprised cry, jumped back a few steps and shouted at him,

"Go away! Leave me alone! Haven't you done enough damage for one day?!" Gai looked sympathetic.

"You knew very well that I would care!" Tears were welling up in his eyes and he wiped them away furiously, "I trusted you, Gai-sensei!" Lee shot back at him.

"I'm sorry! Okay? I'll make up for it!" Lee's curiosity got the better of him and he asked,

"How?"

"Oh I think you know how..." Gai replied seductively

Lee pondered this for a moment before saying,

"So you're really sorry for eating my Ramen?" Gai nodded, "And you'll but me a new bowl?" Gai nodded again. A wave of joy rushed over Lee, as he started to walk past Gai and back towards the village, but before he passed him, he stood on his tip toes and kissed Gai's cheek,

"Thank you, sensei."
