"Big surprise. It didn't work out between you and Foreman." House said as he joined Thirteen at the bar. She rolled her eyes and looked up to meet his gaze.

"How did..."

"I know you'd be here? I learned more than just your gym membership history from Lucas a year ago." He said as he motioned for the bartender.

"What'll it be?"

"Jim Bean and Coke" House answered as he leaned his cane against the bar.

"We lasted longer than you thought." Thirteen finally replied as she traced her finger over the rim of her martini.

"You liked his authoritative nature... and his ability to show compassion when you needed it most... but that doesn't mean he was going to magically become the kind of man who would stick it out with you for the long haul." He said as he sipped his drink. She turned to face him.

"So, what should I have done?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Just be miserable and accept it... Screw faceless girls or guys... whatever gets you..."

"I wanted more than that and don't act like you don't either." She said as she placed down her five dollar bill and stood up. He looked up at her.

"We can't always get what we want." He said sadly before swallowing down his drink. She shook her head and started to walk toward the exit.

"Why did you come here tonight?" She asked before opening the door to leave.

He stared down at his glass and looked up at her.

"Drowning in sorrow alone gets boring."

"Yeah... it does." She said with a nod before going out the door.
