"Zero?" a small voice took him by surprise as he turned around to look at the owner of the sweet voice.
"Yuuki" excitement took over him as he ran to hug her, but the pureblood princess took a step back and pushed her hand forwards. Her delicate lips formed a small frown and her eyebrows knitted together.
"You leave me saying you promise to kill me, now your back asking for me to accept an apology?" anger overflowed the once-sweet voice. Zero's mouth formed a small "o" shape. He wanted to tell her he was wrong but he knew that likely wasn't going to fix anything.
"Yuuki?" a smooth, deep voice called from behind the wooden door. The owner of the voice made his way to the door and opened it slowly.
"You know you cannot be outside love" the tall figure glared at Zero as he took Yuuki in his strong arms.
"Im sorry, Kaname Sama" Yuuki innocently apologized then looked back at Zero.
"Zero, it's time for you to make your way home. There is nothing for you here" she spoke emotionlessly. Zero stared at her with sadness and shock and tried his best to apologize.
"Yuuki, please I-" he began but a small finger was pressed to his lips to shut him up.
"Zero Kiryu, it's too late for you to come and beg for forgiveness. It has been 2 years and all you have done is try to kill my husband and me. Please leave now" she said with tears welling up in her eyes. She closed the door leaving a crying man standing at her doorstep. He turned and left, walking slowly while he cried.
"It's too late" those cruel words floated in the back of his mind. He couldn't shake the feeling of guilt.
"She was right. It has been two years. I had plenty of time to apologize but…" he stopped mid-sentence as he approached the hunters association. He entered the building and grabbed the silver pistol from the counter.
"I will always keep my promise to her" he sighed and smirked as he clutched the pistol and headed back to the Kuran residence…
