Disclaimer: I don't own Teen Titans, or anyone in this fic for that matter…I do own my interpretation of the narrator, however.

When I gave you that hairclip for your birthday, I thought you were a butterfly.

I guess that makes me a moth.

But you were still a caterpillar.

Still a caterpillar.

It has been a while since that day.

I should have flown after you when you ran away.

Still a caterpillar, but you were faster than I was…

You were scared…scared of hurting other people, after what happened that day.

I blame myself. I never should have been there.

I never should have let you run.

You ran. One step ahead of me, if not more…and before I could find you…

The One-Eyed Death found you first.

He tricked you…but he also tricked me.

I think he tricked me worse…he made hurt the people who call you "friend"

I thought you'd remain alone…but I was wrong.

They are such good people! To think I thought them enemies!

Their leader, the Robin.

One-Eyed Death's former puppet.

He broke free, and tried to break you out from his grip.

I should have been there…should have helped him. Instead, I fought him.

He doesn't blame me for anything.

Indeed, he blames himself, on some level, saying the One-Eyed Death just wants revenge.

I don't think it's true. The blame is mine.

Next, the Alien, a creature not of this earth.

Yet the kindness in her heart transcends all bounds.

I don't think she ever saw you as an enemy.

Then there is the human machine.

His name dosen't do him justice.

Though he's half robotic, he has more humanity than almost anyone I've met.

He has a soul.

The Raven, poor bird, she's so much like you.

If she had known about your past, she never would have held such hate.

She also ran away, from the Night's Plutonian Shore.

And something from the Night's Plutonian Shore wants her back.

The Demon with Four Eyes. I fear him…

The sprite…

The sprite…

Call him Puck, or Peter Pan, he's still the sprite.

Elfish, happy, as you called him, "hilarious". He's like everyone's little brother.

Everyone's little fairy.

But you were different.

He cared for you. And I have no doubts that you cared for him.

I see through the humor. He has his own troubles.

I think it's less about the powers, and more about the past…

I don't know for sure, but he is in fact a sad little sprite.

His happiness is sometimes real, sometimes a mask.

When I met him, I was filled with hate.

I thought he was an Imp, using you for his own benefit.

How could I be so wrong? How can One-Eyed Death be so cruel?

"Turning Man against his brother, until Man exists no more."

And now, you've wrapped yourself up in a cocoon of stone.

Will you break out when you are truly a butterfly?

Or are you just shutting yourself out from the world?

Perhaps I only see the shell, and you have already gone. Vain hope!

And yet, it's all I have…

It's all I have…

I won't let them hurt you.

Not One-Eyed Death.

Not those who would do you harm.

Not even the Demon with Four Eyes.

Do you know about him?

I don't know his name. But I see him in my dreams.

He wants the Raven, and will destroy all she holds dear…

And that includes you.

Yes, the Raven does care.

And I won't let you be harmed. I couldn't protect you before, but I will protect you now.

I won't let them…him…hurt you.

I won't…

I will protect you, this I know.

The Messenger Angel told me so.

TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

In case you haven't guessed, Geo-Force is the moth.

Terra is the butterfly.

The others are obvious.

This fic was inspired by Forevermore, by Rose Eclipse. Amazing fic, amazing author. Ranks up there with the works of Blackshield, Aeris9919 and Post. .
