They're childhood friends, which makes everything a thousand times worse, because she's spend an entire childhood watching him as he grew from a baby to the boy who seduced her into his bed.
This isn't the first time she's fell asleep in his bed either, but it's the first time she's shared it with him.

"Daphne," Blaise called, motioning her over to him. When Daphne turned, he shoved a cup of firewhiskey into her hands and grinned.
The fire whiskey burned her throat but she inhaled it anyways, grinning back at him. "Much appreciated, Zabini."
Blaise wrapped his arm around her. "Ah, this is why you're my favourite. Ladies and gentlemen, I hate you all compared to my love for Daphne."
Everyone burst into laughter and Daphne rolled her eyes, a smile tugging at her lips. Blaise always flirted with her but she was more the silent type compared to his exuberant personality.
"Another shot, Daph?" Blaise asked, raising their empty cups. Daphne rolled her eyes at the terrible nickname but nodded anyways.
Blaise was such a player but he was so much fun.

Blaise felt like he had had the carpet duh out from under his feet or as if someone had thrown a bucket of ice-cold water at his head.
Daphne Greengrass, one of the few people in the world whose friendship he actually valued, was in his bed. He had slept with her.
Blaise buried his head in his hands. This was shaping up to be the worst mistake of his life.
Daphne woke up then and furrowed her noise. Blaise watched as the horror hit her and her eyes widened dramatically.
"Zabini." Daphne said, staring at him. Her demeanour was already ice cold like usual and Blaise wanted to cry.
"Good morning," he started to say but she didn't do anymore then nod in his direction as she pulled on her clothes, head held high.
Watching her go, Blaise's self control wavered. He was already in far too deep, Daphne wasn't just one of the girls he spent a night with and abandoned forever.
But just like the rest of them, she was leaving.

Blaise sat beside Daphne the next day in potions like they always did and she nodded at him like she always did and Snape graded them like he always did, a shiny "Outstanding" that made Granger eye the two of them with suspicion and disgust.
Nothing seemed to have changed, except Blaise's eyes tracked ever move Daphne made, and he could barely stop himself from wanting to do all the dangerous parts.
Nothing seemed to have changed, except Daphne couldn't stop staring at the side of his profile as he brewed and all she wanted to say was "I love you, Blaise Zabini."
But neither of them said anything other than, "pass me the brewing kit."

It's been almost a year now and if he spends another day pretending not to care, he's going to lose his damn mind.
It's been almost a year and with their relationship cracked open at the seams, she's never been lonelier.
It's just a one night love affair
It's only a love affair
