After seeing everyone do it,
I finally gathered the courage
to ask what it was like.
I was told there were stages;
that first you dreamt about it –
the feel and taste of it,
and who you'd share it with –
and you began to anticipate
and to know it'd be amazing
and then you plan it.
"It will happen like this."
And then you wait…
And when you've waited so long you don't care,
it happens.
I asked if this was true.
"So you wait forever
just for it to happen
and when it does,
it's nothing like you expected."
"Yes, but amazing
none the less"
is exactly what they said –
the two of them ;)
