APH: Bedtime Stories

"Germany, Germany, tell me a bedtime story!"

Germany looked down at the ditzy boy. The boy was happy and loved to eat pasta and drink wine. He was a strange one to many, but still likeable.

"Italy, you're too old for such silly things," Germany said sternly, "Besides, I'm not your nanny." The tall blond was very annoyed by the boy's antics. After all he had to deal with these things every day.

The boy tilted his head like a small puppy, "Please, Germany?"

The blond sighed as he dragged a chair to the side of the bed, "Fine, just stop making that face." The boy smiled.

The blond sat there, searching for a story to tell. The boy sat in his bed patiently awaiting his story. "…um…How to start…" the blond didn't know how he was to begin a story.

"Just start with 'once upon a time'. I don't care," the boy said.

"…Really?" The boy nodded a yes. "A-Alright!"

The blond cleared his throat, "Once upon a time…there was a maiden."

"Was she pretty?" the boy asked.

"Yes she was very pretty," the blond said.

"Was she sexy?" the boy asked, with no change in tone whatsoever.

The blond considered leaving now before things got worse. "No! Stop asking dumb questions!"

Much to the blonde's surprise, the boy complied. "She was forced to clean the castle every day, because her home had been captured by the neighboring lands. Despite her situation, she never complained."

"One day she met one of the castle's knights. Even though they were the same age, the knight seemed so much older than she. He held himself exactly as the other knights did. At first she was scared of him, after all she had never seen a warrior before. But the young knight was smitten. It was love at first sight for him."

"The two began meeting with each other, and after a while…they became very close. They even began to acknowledge their feelings for each other. But it couldn't last. The young knight's kingdom had broken it's ties with the lord who owned the castle. All of the knights were to return to their normal lives of battle. The maiden cried for the young knight, begging him to stay."

"The knight knew he couldn't disobey orders, so he gave the girl a proposition. 'Come with me, and we'll rule all of Europe together'. It just made her cry even more, because she knew it would mean more war. It hurt her to think of him risking his life for land. The young knight didn't want to see her like this so he made her a promise, 'When the war is over, we will meet again'. "

"The girl smiled and gave him her deck brush to remember her by. So with tears in their eyes, they parted ways. …. But the knight didn't get to see her again. The toll of war and fever was too much for the boy. He died."

The blonde looked down at the boy, who was soundly sleeping in his bed. "That's what East told me when I was little, anyway."
