"TEAM WARRIOR HAS WON THE IG-2!!! THIS MEANS OUR FAVORITE THREE PILOTS WILL FINALLY MAKE IT TO THE IG-1!!! CONGRATULATIONS TEAM WARRIOR, YOU'VE HIT THE BIG LEAGUES," cheered the commentator, Benjamin Bright, as he announced the victors of a hard won race.
Cheers erupted from the crowd at the display, as their favorite team had won and made it into the IG-1, the most elite and prestigious level of the entire sport.
Meanwhile, in the giant garage/hangar housing the mechs, the pilots exit their respective machines and go to change out of their gear.
The first pilot is a young man, about 17 years old and standing about five feet and eleven inches tall. He has shoulder length, chocolate brown hair with bangs covering his left eye and cool grey eyes. As he goes to his locker with a noticeable limp in his step, he takes off the upper portion of his mech suit, his body becomes visible, a body that would make men green with envy and drive women mad with lust. His form is almost flawless, being extremely toned and seemingly without an ounce of fat on him, but marred with a few scars, a sign of intense training. He takes off the rest of his suit, and puts on a black leather jacket, an unbuttoned flannel shirt and a white tank top underneath, jeans with a black belt, and black shoes.
The second pilot to emerge is a young woman who's about the same age but slightly younger, standing about five feet and nine inches. She has strawberry blonde hair and emerald green eyes, which have now been covered by rectangular glasses. She has the body of a gymnast, with moderate sized bust and hips. She takes of her mech suit and puts on a white button up shirt and gray leather jacket with black pants and black boots.
The third pilot is a rather tall young man, standing at six feet and two inches, and the youngest of the trio, having barely turned seventeen. He has black hair parted to the right and ice blue eyes. He has the same form as the other boy, but less toned and thinner. As he takes off his suit, he puts on a long sleeved blue and gray t-shirt, and blue jeans with black shoes.
Once all the pilots go to the "living room" of their building, the last two pilots immediately address the elephant in the room.
"What the hell was that, Chase," said the two in unison, "you could have seriously fucked up your leg, or even gotten killed!!!"
Chase merely raises an eyebrow and says to them with a slight, almost unnoticeable accent in his voice, "I didn't see you two coming up with any bright ideas. Besides, we won, didn't we? And it doesn't even hurt. Also, Alice, what was with that third lap? Or how about that fuck up in the second lap Ty?"
"Yes, we messed up, but we didn't ACTIVELY GO AND TRY TO GET OURSELVES KILLED!!! Do you not realize we could've died?!"
"Actually I do. BUT, I also realize that Satomi was the toughest team we've ever faced so far, and if you really think about it, we didn't exactly have many options. What else would you have me do?"
"But-"
"Do you guys not remember what that landed us? This is the IG-1! Lower level pilots would KILL to be in the position we're in right now!"
"...Well, I mean he's not wrong."
"ALICE!!!"
"I would like to see your little lover's quarrel as much as the next guy, but we still have an injured pilot here."
All three looked to the entrance of the "living room" — Ty and Alice denying any relationship — to find the team's mechanic and physician, Xander Watson. He was a man in his mid-to-late 30's with black hair and brown eyes wearing glasses, blue overalls with a white shirt underneath, and brown boots. In one hand he held a kit with different medical supplies, and in another hand he held a standard first aid kit, like the kind you can get at a pharmacy. He walks over to Chase and kneels down.
"Alright, let me check your leg and we can get this over with," Xander says, getting his equipment ready.
"Xander, I'm fine-"
"Maybe you are and this is just a waste of time, but you mother is going to give us both hell if I don't check. Neither of us want that do we? Or how about a certain someone?"
Chase pales and shudders at the thought, then concedes, "alright, let's get this out of the way," then let's the doctor/mechanic look at his leg.
After about ten minutes, Xander puts up his supplies and says, "okay, looks like light bruising, so it shouldn't be much of a problem. It's probably going to be sore for a few hours at best, just try not to put too much pressure on it." With that, Xander leaves back to the garage/hangar to do more maintenance on the mechs.
After a few seconds of silence, Chase stands up, "I'm gonna head back home, any of you need a lift?"
Alice perks up at this, "Think you can take me to the mall? There's something I'm looking to get." 'Why am I not surprised, but I might as well make the most of my time before heading home,' Chase thinks before nodding his head and heading outside to his car.
The vehicle is a beautiful silver sports car with the speed of a Formula 1 race car, tinted windows, sleek aerodynamic design, and black tires with silver rims. Alice and Chase get in the car and drive to the mall.
After 10 minutes, they make it to the mall, a giant building that could easily be mistaken for a stadium. Alice goes off to look for clothes or whatever it was she was interested in while Chase entertained himself with video games and the movie theatre, getting a ticket to see Avengers 30: Incursion.
'As good as it was, I still can't believe it took them this long to finally get to this story arc from 25 years ago,' Chase mused to himself turning near a bakery, 'Hmm, maybe I should get something for Nina…'
(Time skip: Nighttime)
Chase heads to his family's home, a modestly sized penthouse. As he gets his key and opens the door, he is tackled to the ground by a small brunette with blue eyes and in her pajamas.
"{Where were you, Big Brother}," the tiny girl asks with a smile on her face, speaking only in Russian. Chase just smiles at her and replies Russian as well, "{I went to the mall. Don't tell mom I got you these, okay Nina?}" Reaching for one of the bags he dropped when he was tackled, he pulls out some candy and chocolate chip cookies, watching his little sister's eyes light up before she took the treats and sped off to her room.
Chuckling to himself at his sister's antics, he goes to take a shower, changes into a white t-shirt and black shorts, and goes to bed.
[A/N: Hi guys, Omega here. I'm new on this site. I posted this as my first story because this is such an underrated anime but when I found this here, it felt so good to know I'm not the only one who likes it. So to any who come across this story, please review and help me improve. Also before I put out each new chapter, I'll leave you with one character file of my OC team. Omega, out.]
Character File(s):
Team Warrior: Newest addition to the IG-1. Each pilot on the team is a highly skilled martial artist, with team captain and forward, Chase Taylor, being arguably the best fighter. Despite vastly different upbringings and conflicting personalities, they function exceptionally well both as a unit and on their own.
File 1:
Name: Chase Taylor
Notable Skills or Abilities:
Expert Martial Artist - Highly skilled in Gōjū-ryū Karate, Shōtōkan Karate, Kyokushin Karate, Shōrei-ryū Karate, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Taekwondo, Capoeira, Ninjutsu, Tang Soo Do, Kobudō, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, Wushu, Jeet Kune Do, Jiu-Jitsu, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In a race or fight in general, he places emphasis on perseverance and precision. His reputation for ruthlessness often has many opponents scared of him.
Expert Pilot - Trained since he was ten, and is the personal apprentice to Natalia "Light Speed" Taylor — who is the team's coach and also his mother — whose style involves use of slipstream and precision strikes to other mechs. His modified version of her style incorporates more offense to render opponents mechs unable to race anymore, and also makes use of drifting maneuvers.
Expert Marksman - Chase and his teammate/childhood friend, Alice, have been trained to use guns, and practice regularly. He has uncanny accuracy, though he is still second only to Alice.
Miscellaneous Notes:
- Son of legendary IGPX pilot Natalia Taylor and an unknown father who left when he was young.
- Has abandonment issues and a fear of attachment that stem from when his father left the family.
- Despite his aloof and withdrawn nature, he truly values his team/friends, viewing them as family. He even considers the mechanic, Xander, to be a father figure.
- Has a younger sister, Nina, who idolizes him and their mother, and aspires to be an IGPX pilot like them.
- Birthday is April 10, 2032.
- Fluent in English, Russian, Japanese, French, and German.
- Used to be in a gang called the Wolves before going straight and focusing on his IGPX career.
- He and Alice have gun licenses and own guns, though he prefers not using it. They both have Glocks, but he has a 34 while she has a 26.
