Ch 1:The help Received
The crew of Voyager had spent the past month running into one hostile race after another, so it was no surprise they would be on edge when coming in contact with yet another M-class planet with what looked as a battle ship approaching them. "Captain, their hailing us." Ensign Kim reported. Janeway took a deep breath before answering. "On screen." A humanoid creature appeared on the viewscreen. He looked human all except for the ridged on the sides of his face. "Hello! I am Kara of the battleship Cuppilia. You look as though you need assistance." "I'm Kathryn Janeway of the Star Ship Voyager. And yes we are in need of help. We have been in many battles over the past month and suffered much damage." "Yes,yes! Say no more. My people, the Dunkars, will be more than happy to help you with any supplies you need. Would you be able to come down to the planet whit some of your people so we could settle everything?" You could see the stress disappear on Janeway's face. "Thank you for your help. Yes me and my team will beam down in one hour." "Ah! Splendid! We shall meet then. Goodbye." When the screen went blank the Captain called a senior staff meeting. Once everyone arrived she explained everything. In return they each gave a report on supplies needed. "Is that all?" She asked once everyone was done. When no one answered she stood up. "Good. Chakotay, you Tom and B'Elanna will accompany me planetside. Mr.Tuvok, you will be in command until we return. We will be gone a total of 3 days. Any questions?" Tom spoke up," Just one Captain." "Yes?" "You said me and B'ella were to both go with you?" "Is there a problem with that Lieutenant?" "Well just a slight one. What do we do with Marial?" Harry was the next to speak up. "Well I could watch her for you since the Captain needs you to go." Tom and Harry looked at the Captain who smiled in return." I was just about to suggest you watching her Ensign. Thank you." 'Yeah." Said Tom," Thanks buddy." "Well if that's all I want my away team to meet in the transporter room in 15 minuets. Dismissed." As they got up to leave Kathryn stopped Tom and B'elanna. "Could you stay a moment?" "Yes 'mam" they said at the same time. "I would like to explain why I asked you to go. I know since you have had Marial you never have any time to yourselves, so I thought you would enjoy some shore leave. Just the two of you." B'elanna was stunned. "Captain! Thank you. It has been hard since we've had Marial. We really appreciate this." "Your welcome. I hope you have a good time. We have 10 minuets before we leave so I'll meet you then. Dismissed."
