Author's Note
OK, people this will be a Naruto fanfiction about Itachi. I'm going to put in perspective what he would've been thinking and how things could've been different. In this fic I think I'll send both he and Itachi back in time. Oh, and I'm pretty sure this is going to be ItaSasu Slash so fair warning. This will also be major AU.
As, Itachi Uchiha looks backs on his life as he dies he comes to a startling realization. He's 21 and he's dying. He comes to one even more startling He doesn't deserve to die. Why should he? He's never lived for himself at any time during his life. He never got to make his own decisions. Itachi never was asked if he wanted to be a ninja? Or if he wanted to be Anbu? By then they had broken him so much that he followed the order to kill his own family quite easily. He joined the Akatsuki on village orders. As Itachi Uchiha looks back on his life he realizes that the only thing in his life he really decided was to leave Sasuke alive.
But, did he really decide that? Didn't they just want one last Uchiha that they could control. As Itachi's life flashes before his eyes he realizes that the village isn't the epitome of good and he was naive. As Itachi Uchiha dies with the knowledge that he was a puppet. As his life fades from his eyes he knows he's been thrown away. Itachi Uchiha dies with the knowledge that other people his age even ninjas have lived a life but, he's never made a single decision for himself.
Itachi Uchiha dies killed by the one person that meant everything to him. However, even then the world goes on because, Itachi Uchiha was one person and eventually everyone forgot about the discarded puppet.
In another universe Itachi Uchiha went to the afterlife but, this isn't that story. In this story Itachi Uchiha woke up at the age of ten to the cheers of the Uchiha clan as he accepts his chunin rank.
Sasuke Uchiha has just killed his brother. Sasuke Uchiha has worked to kill his brother since he was eight. Sasuke Uchiha's brother is dead. Sasuke Uchiha killed his brother at 16. Sasuke Uchiha looks back on his life and wondering when it all went wrong?
However, Sasuke may be a lot of things but, stupid isn't one of them he knows exactly where his life went wrong. It's because Sasuke had too many choices but, never enough. In the end Sasuke was the Second son, the Spare and he never forgot it. Sasuke Uchiha was the son no one paid attention to. He was just the second Uchiha boy.
The ironic thing though was because, the one person who did pay attention to hi was the one everyone else paid attention to. In Sasuke's life the only person who rally paid attention to his was Itachi Uchiha. The first son, the heir.
The day Itachi killed everyone was the day Sasuke changed. He still revolved his world around Itachi just in a different way. Itachi was dead he avenged his clan. However, Sasuke Uchiha didn't feel any happiness like you would think someone who completed their goal would. Because, all Sasuke felt was empty.
As he took the kunia out and slit his wrist and bled out. A deep part of his heart just felt pain because, all it wanted to do was say 'NISAN' just one last time.
That's how Sasuke Uchiha dies like he lived yearning for something he couldn't have.
