Sometimes…
Dean dreams of flying.
Ironically, for something that when awake is one of his greatest fears, this is joyful.
Free.
His spirit soars like a falcon; catching thermals, rising higher and higher until he can see the curve of the earth; all its glorious colours spread out below him, jewel-like in their brilliance.
Fierce like the falcon, Dean is a natural-born hunter. Deadly, swift, urgent.
A lethal weapon. A lonely weapon.
Sometimes…
Dean flies so high he wonders how he'll be able to breathe, so far away from everything he knows and loves.
Then…
Like a thunderbolt he falls.
