Alvin and the Chipmunks

Brotherhood

"Hey, Alvin. What's wrong?" I asked my crying older brother, Alvin. Alvin looked up at me, tears in his eyes. "Do you know what today is, Noah?" he asked. "June 9th. Oh, I see. Alvin, you aren't still beating yourself up over Cookie Chomper III's death, are you?" I asked. Alvin nodded. It's been 3 years and I still miss him." he said. I put my arm around Alvin's shoulder.

"Alvin, Cookie Chomper's death wasn't your fault." I said. "How do you know? He died before you came to us." Alvin said. "Remember when I died last year? I went to Heaven. I saw Cookie Chomper. In Heaven, all the departed speak the same language, Hebrew, but to each soul, it sounds like our native tongues. Cookie said that it was neither of your faults. Not Simon's, Theo's, Dave's, and especially not your's. It was his. He saw a bug and was curious. He tried to catch it and he fell. He followed the bug until the car hit him. He also said to tell you that he loves you and wants you to be happy." I said.

Alvin smiled. "Thanks, Noah. That helps." he said, hugging me. I hugged him. "Anytime bro. Anytime." But I still wasn't done. Later that same day, the whole family was gathered together. "Guys, I know that you greive about Cookie Chomper. I can help ease that pain." I said. Then I held up my hands and chanted in Gailic. "A Thiarna Íosa, a iarraidh go scaoileadh Cookie Chomper III." (Lord Jesus, I ask that release Cookie Chomper III.)

Suddenly, a small, gray cat materialized in front of us. "Mew?" he said. "Cookie Chomper!" Alvin said, picking up the cat and hugging him. "How long will he be with us?" Simon asked, petting the kitten. "Until the day he becomes an old cat. After he dies then, I can never bring him back again." I said. Alvin put Cookie Chomper down and hugged me. "Thanks, Noah. You've made me so happy. I love you." he said. I hugged him back. "Love you too, big bro."
