It was that time of year again. Unfortunately, there was nothing he could do to avoid this day. It had been 3 years since his mother, his rock, had left him.

As he pulled into the Jewish Cemetery, he sighed. He knew that his brother and father were going later in the day to pay their respects, but in all honesty, he wanted some time to himself, to just think, and remember, all that had been taken from him three years ago today. He glanced down at his watch. In two hours from now, it would be the time of his mother's death. Well, in two hours, twelve minuets, and thirty- five seconds, to be exact.

He doubted Charlie even knew what she was wearing when…

Better to stop that kind of thinking right there. He didn't want to go back to being angry with Charlie, and knew that if he starting thinking like that, when he went to the Craftsman tonight, he might just punch Charlie.

Better to put those thoughts aside.

He finally reached it. He looked down and saw her name. What a beautiful name. Margaret. It meant Pearl in Latin. And what a pearl she had been. She had been beautiful like one, and just as flawless. He knew how hard it was to find a pearl, and knew it must have been hard for his dad to find her.

Pearl.

He figured it was fitting that the stone he was putting on her plot at this very moment, looked like a pearl.

He sighed again. His eyes started to burn, and he looked up into the sky.

I miss you Mom.

With that being done, Don Eppes turned around, and headed back to his car, and back to work.

Iwas looking up customs for Jewish Funerals ( don't ask me why) and I read that Jews don't put flowers on their gravesites, but put a stone, to show that someone has come to remember. I just could see Don doing that. Enjoy

And Please Review. I'm hoping to start more chapters on The Assignment quite soon, so please, be patient!!
