"Max... he's so not possible. He's just like this whole different..." Liz informed flustered.
"Life form?" Maria supplied to keep her laughter from bubbling out.
"Type." Liz continued, shooting her blonde best friend a shut-up-now! Look.
"How intriguing. Dangerous man." Grandma Claudia chuckled lightly seeing her granddaughter's distressed look at how everyone was ganging up on her.
"Spacey man." Maria added and Liz turned to the pixie, her eyes blazing angrily.
"Oh, shut up, Maria. Or I'll start telling your boy secrets." Liz threatened and Grandma Claudia turned to Maria inferentially interested. In all the years Claudia Parker had known Maria Deluca the girl had never ever been interested in boys in the slightest. Liz had started having crushes on boys when she was 13 and ever since things had gone downhill.
"A boy? Who?" Claudia implored giddily bouncing slightly in her place.
"There's no boy! Liz, stop spreading lies!" Maria demanded. Her face turned red, revealing her lie.
"Yeah, right. I know you better than anyone, Maria. I've seen the way you look at him, the way you act around him." Liz baited, grinning as the color got darker and darker on Maria's face.
"I-I-I have no idea what you are talking about, Liz." Maria stumbled over her words and crossed her arms over her chest.
"Who's the boy?" Claudia pressed anxious to know. This boy must be really something if he met the high standards she knew Maria had to have.
"Michael Guerin." Liz answered a goofy look entering her eyes and she twirled over around Maria.
"What's he like?" Claudia implored of the two teenage girls.
"Liz doesn't know what she's talking about Grandma. I don't like him. He's ignorant and rude and weird, and…"
"Trouble?" Liz supplied, tongue in cheek.
"He's not trouble." Maria answered and groaned realizing Liz had trapped her. By jumping to his defense, even in the subtle she did, she just proven Liz's point. "Besides weren't you discussing Max?" Maria knew Liz had trouble giving up a chance to discuss Max, being the one on the end of most of Liz's Max-related rants. She hoped by giving Liz an opening to discuss Max, she'd take it and they'd get off the Michael subject.
"Oh, you don't." Liz said. "We are so not dropping this, but nice try." She supplied. "I've waited long enough for you to tell me about it and now that Grandma Claudia is here I'm going to get it out of you."
"So, are either of you going to tell me about these young men?" Grandma Claudia demanded as she sat back down on Liz's bed. Liz smiled, grasped Maria's hand, and dragged her over to sit on the bed.
"We'd love to!" Liz declared happily.
