I've had this in my spiral for the longest time, and figured I would post it here on LJ. Not very good.

Warnings: Slash, boyboy, spoiler for HBP

Dean remembered when he first met Seamus. They had been on the Hogwart's Express, and Dean was sitting alone in a compartment when suddenly a sandy-haired youth about his age popped his head in.

"Mind if I sit you, mate?" he asked with a ridiculous irish accent that made Dean want to laugh. He simply nodded mutely. The boy sidled in, shoved his trunk up in the rack, and plopped down in the seat across from Dean. He fidgeted slightly.

"Me name's Seamus. Seamus Finnigan. What's your name?" He flashed a quick smile, and offered a hand to shake.

"Dean Thomas." He shook the offered hand.

Dean quickly picked up his sketchbook, and continued on his drawing.

"Are you a pureblood?"

Brown eyes met blue. "What's that?"

"Guess that means you're a muggle." Another blank look. "Non-magical folk." He explained.

Dean nodded.

They hadn't been immediate friends, like Harry and Ron, but it grew.

It was in fifth year when Dean noticed that he thought about Seamus just a little too much. He tried to ignore it, and get one life, and began dating Ginny as a distraction. It felt almost okay. Almost.

Then she broke up with him, and the irishman filled his head, and occupied his thoughts constantly again.

Lavender and Parvati noticed, and made a plan. They ended up locking Dean and Seamus in an empty classroom. And that was when Seamus confessed. He did it in a very Gryfffindor way, and the words just poured out of him like water.

They had started out as awkward kids trying to be friends, and ended as lovers.

Blah.
