Hey, people. This is my first attempt to write any fanfic whatsoever so a BIG Thanks to all you guys reading it. If it's horrible, lemme know. Review please.. XOXO
John trudged towards 221-B. He ran away from the scene as soon as he could without being rude. He answered all the questions asked, from media and the police alike, he helped Greg cover up the suicide of the fake genius, Sherlock Holmes and helped Molly calm down by crying on his shoulder. He was surprised at himself. He had not cried yet and was still concerned about the reasons which made Sherlock take his own life. Detaching himself and viewing oneself in third person and a patient, he figured that he was in shock. It is a trick he learned from Sherlock. As soon as he stepped in the flat, a burning smell invaded his nose. He ran up the stairs and quickly turned off the stove. "goddamnit, Sherlock! Could have burned the house down!" John screamed. Wondering what was going on upstairs, Mrs. Hudson came in, looking worried and honestly, a bit tired. Her eyes were swollen from crying and cheeks blotched. As soon as she entered the flat, she wrapped John in a big hug and tried comforting him through the shared tears for their fallen loss. After much persuasion and insistence from John that he was fine and he would make though the night, she left the flat to cry some more and sleep.
John decided that it was no good trying to sleep and he decided to watch an old comedy on telly. He went in the kitchen to grab a cuppa and that's when he saw it, a thick manila envelope peeking out from behind the cups. He took the envelope out and what he saw shocked him. In neat, curvy handwriting, which he recognised as Sherlock's was written, "The WILL of Sherlock Holmes (only to be opened in the case of said persons' demise and only by John Watson)". John hastily tore the paper off and found another paper inside. It didn't seem much like an official declaration but John decided even though his flatmate was a 5-year-old in his antics, whatever this paper state would be taken seriously and his friends' wishes respected. That paper read as follows, "I, Sherlock Holmes, hereby announce my following possessions to be given to the understated:
A new China tea-set, originally from China to be given to Mrs. Hudson
All the research and discoveries made by me to be given to Molly. (Warn her to not be an idiot and refuse.)
Chocolate pastry in fridge for Mycroft Holmes.
27 police badges, 3 wallets and 2 orange shock blankets to be returned to Greg Lestrade.
My phone, laptop, violin, chair, scarf and severed head in the top drawer of the fridge to be given in the possession of one John Hamish Watson."
It continued further although in a bit of small writing as though written as an afterthought.
"I am apologizing in advance, John. Whatever I did or happened was in no way your fault and please don't burden yourself with the guilt. Take care of Mrs. Hudson. The flat's advance is paid in full for coming 5 months so don't worry about finding a new flat. This task of writing a suicide note is quite emotional so I'll end it here. One last thing, John. Pray for a miracle. Not for me, but for yourself.
SH."
John didn't even realize a tear escape his eyes. He didn't know but that letter would be his lifeline for the coming 2 years.
