An excerpt from the journal of Kaysha, Caption of the Sisters of the Sightless Eye.

'I still regret not taking action. As soon as I heard of the hole in the floor of the Catacombs, I should have had it sealed. Instead, I foolishly wanted to explore the chamber. If only I knew the consequences of my actions.

On that particular day, a stranger had come to our gates. He said that he was merely a traveler, wishing to seek sanctuary within the walls of our monastery. Reluctantly I permitted him to enter; the Rogues have never denied hospitality on such a dreary night.

It was after I had shown the stranger his room in the Barracks that the strange events began to occur.

Flavie had come up from the Cathedral, telling me of strange occurrences in the sacred catacombs. She suggested that we tell Akara, but I strongly discouraged the notion, and said that I would take a look myself.

I walked down to the catacombs, and I admit apprehension as I peered into the gaping chase.

Unexpectedly, a monster flew out of the hole; her orange hair looked as if it was in flames, and her skin was a chalky white, a stark contrast in comparison with her hair.

Out of instinct, I fired an arrow at the monstrosity, again thankful that I always carry arms. I recognized the monstrosity as the Maiden of Anguish; and was glad to see her recoil as my arrow struck her shoulder.

However, my joy was short-lived; as Andarial turned, she pulled out the arrow from her flesh, the weapon burning as she did so.

I turned and fled, knowing that I could not defeat the Maiden.

On my race up the staircase, the final horror presented itself to my eyes. Hundreds of Rogues, all with the same blank stare on their faces, were walking zombie-like in the opposite direction. I tried my best, I truly did, to deter them from their walk of death. The completion of my mortification came when I saw Blood Raven, my protégé, my best pupil, was among those on their final procession, one that would lead only to their eternal imprisonment.

Upon seeing her face, I cried openly. I quickly made my way to the citadel, collecting all of the remaining Sisters leading them out of our ancestral home.'
