A Dream to Travel
AN: Hey this is my first ever Fanfiction so please don't be too mean if it's really bad. I do of course accept constructive criticisim, so please if have any ways that i could improve my story please say so in a review.
I know this story is quite short but please cut me some slack it's my first one :)
The young princess sat on her swing her feet sliding over the perfectly cut grass, a light breeze blowing through her long golden locks. She looked around the near perfect garden, the only flaw in her mind was herself, a young girl placed on the swing that hung neatly from a simple but well-kept cherry blossom tree.
The pink petals hung above her, the young princess sometimes wondered, she had always lived quite a sheltered life, she didn't get to see much of the outside world. Her curiosity always peaking at the thought of the outside world. Sometimes she just wished she was free to roam the Mushroom Kingdom instead of being locked in her castle day and night learning a lot about all of the Princesses' duties which would soon fall to her.
She didn't mind learning about these duties as she knew deep down they were for the good of the kingdom, even if she didn't like to admit it. It always stuck her that how could she be a good ruler if she had never met any of her subjects. She had only met a very select few but there were so many others in the kingdom. So many she had never even heard off before.
Using her bare feet she pushed herself on the swing, her feet barely even disturbing the grass.
Her father would probably have a canary if he caught her outside completely unsupervised and still in her light pink nightie, but she kept her mind off it for now.
When the swing swung high she could see over the castle's protective walls. Over the stone structures she could see large green fields and an empty hill. Behind the hill she could see the beginning of the well-known Darklands. Whether you thought well of them or not was up to you, even though that didn't interest Peach at this moment.
The beginning of the darker kingdom reflected in her blue irises. She wondered if she would ever get the opportunity to go there. With her thoughts whirling around her head she hopped of her swing and back into the castle before anyone caught her outside.
She wanted to see it, the world outside the castle walls, experience another place where formalities were non-existent. She didn't mind where she went, she just wanted to feel the freedom, where the she could have the wind blow through her hair and have a skirt above knee length and not be frowned upon.
She dreamed of it every night and every day. Sometimes she would sit out her window wondering what lay beyond the horizon, the unknown territory.
She looked for something, an adventure or a new experience.
She had a dream of travel.
