*Summary: A long waited conversation

Cory McNamara parked her bike out in front of TC Callaway's house. She walked slowly

towards the door, wondering if she should knock or if she should turn around and go back home.

Reluctantly, she raised her hand to knock. She knew she had avoided talking with TC for too

long about what happened between them.

At the same time, TC Callaway put on a cd to distract him from thinking about her. This

was the first time in a long time, he wasn't thinking about Chris. Just Cory. He wondered if

things would ever be the same with them again. And he wondered if she was feeling the same

way. That was when he heard the knock on the door.

As the door opened, Cory's heart started beating faster. She was still unsure if she should

be there, but it was too late.

"Cory. Hi!," TC said, surprised to see her standing there.

"Hi, TC. I, um, thought maybe we could talk."

"Yeah, sure, come in," said TC, "What's up?"

TC motioned to her to sit down, not knowing what she wanted to talk about would be

good or bad.

"First, I want to apologize for the way I treated you after, we, you know....." Cory stated,

not finishing her sentence.

"Made love?" TC responded, finishing her sentence.

"Yeah, that" Cory said with a half smile, remembering how good it felt to be in his arms,

but also how it changed everything between them.

"It's okay Cory, I understand"

"I just felt like I betrayed my best friend."

"It wasn't just you in the room that night."

"I know. I have been doing a lot of thinking about everything that's happened. Chris

leaving, you and me, everything. And I have realized we weren't betraying her, TC. She left you,

she left your marriage and said it was over between the two of you" Cory said, not even stopping to take a breath.

"She left both of us, Cory. And you are right, she said it was over between us. And since

that night, it will be forever over for Chris and me."

"What are you saying?" Cory asked.

"Im saying I have no regrets over what happened between us. I never have."

"You don't?" Cory asked.

"None" TC said, looking at her to see her reaction.

With tears welling up in her eyes, relieved he didn't hate her for being a jerk after that night, Cory said, "I don't have any either."

"So, what do we do now?" TC asked.

"I don't know, what do you think?" Cory responded.

Remembering there was music playing in the background, TC went over to the cd player

and hit track 13. The song "Destiny" by Jim Brickman began playing.

"How about another dance?" TC asked, as he held out his hand to her. "This time, no alcohol."

TC and Cory looked into each others eyes and knew it was right. She reached out her

hand to his and he took her into his arms. They started dancing and with each step, held each

other tighter, knowing this was the beginning of many more dances together to come.
