While Spock had spent most of his time as an Ambassador in Romulan space working towards reunification, he had set foot aboard the Enterprise-D a couple of times. Most notably when the governor of one of the Romulan colony worlds had captured him along with a number of his followers.
It had been on one of these short trips to the Enterprise-D that an incident that would disturb him to no end for a long while occurred. He had entered one of the Holodecks in order to be able to meditate in an environment that was set to look and feel like The Forge, and found himself locked in a different program entirely.
He raised an eyebrow in surprise when he found himself greeted by a group of beings from Earth's mythology who were located around a round table, rather than the inhospitable desert which was located near his city of birth.
Every person at the table turned to look at him expectantly.
"What say you?" the leader of the meeting who looked very much like a Vulcan who chose to wear his hair longer than was proper for a male asked.
"Computer, arch." he said, before turning and leaving the Holodeck.
"Is there a problem Ambassador Spock?" Captain Picard asked when the Ambassador whom he'd come to fetch left the Holodeck less than a minute after arriving.
"I do believe that someone just tried to stick me in a Lord of the Rings fan fiction." Spock replied.
