So this is my first Danny Phantom fanfiction, you see we had a prompt in creative writing class the prompt was: a picture is worth 1,000 words. The picture I picked was a bunch of people standing in front of a burning building, this is the story I wrote to go along with it.
Warnings; um fire and maybe some MINOR Vlad/Danny if you squint it all depends on one's point of view oh and Death that's in here too.
…..
Danny Fenton watched in horror as the flames burned higher and higher; hotter and hotter. He watched as the dancing flames, consumed the only home he had ever known. How could everything that he had known and loved be taken so quickly, so easily? He had only walked down the street to his friend's house to borrow a c.d. He had been standing with Tucker on the porch and then all of a sudden a massive explosion had caused the entire street to quake.
As it turns out, the explosion had come from Danny's house. He knew his parents had been working on some contraption in their lab when he left; he could only assume that this is what caused the explosion. Danny had always known his parent's line of work would cause trouble one day; but he had never imagined it would take their lives. He was barely registering the neighbors that had flocked to whisper as they watched the house burn down. All Danny heard was the roar of the flames as they greedily claimed his family for their own; all he could see were the bright dancing colors, orange, red, purple, so many beautiful colors in such deadly form.
Suddenly somebody took him gently by the arm, and led him away from the horrifying scene. The person didn't speak until they were quite a distance away; but when he did Danny knew exactly who it was.
"There is nothing you could have done to stop this Daniel, I hope you understand." The deep voice of Vlad Masters broke through the fog clouding Danny's mind. /he glanced up to look into the man's worried gaze before nodding with a sigh.
"Yeah I know, but it still hurts." He replied sadly, blinking back tears stubbornly; Vlad smiled encouragingly and placed a comforting arm across the teen's thin shoulders.
"It always hurts in the beginning Little Badger, but it will get better I promise." Vlad stated bracingly, giving the distressed teenager a small squeeze.
Danny could only hope.
