One of the ghosts took a step closer. Step by eerie step it neared it's prey. He was going to suffer the same way he forced them to suffer. He was going to feel every ounce of the same terror he made them feel in their final moments.

Raw panic held him in a vice. For every step the demon took, he would take another back. He continued to back away until his back felt the cold, plywood wall against his spine. It knew he was cornered and pounced on him.

He sidestepped his small attacker and with a terrified wail, fled to the other side of the room, only to repeat the agonizing game of Cat-and-Mouse. The apparition made no noise while the hapless guard howled like a banshee. The small form finally reached the leg of its target and clung tightly, taking care to not be shaken off.

The guard tripped over his feet and colapsed, flailing all the way. He could feel the child's empty eyes boring into his own. Once he hit the ground, the other cursed spirits began to close in around him. He needed to think fast! Hiding behind the busted arcade machines would do no good...the ghosts barred the only exit...there was only one option. It would be his salvation!

The suit...that wretched golden suit. The very. Same. One.

He pushed himself upright and in three long strides, reached the slumped, golden figure. The ghost that held him had released him and backed away, it's dead gaze following the guard's movements silently. The others crowded around the first and watched as the guard transformed into the familiar, horrible character that ended thier lives months ago.

The guard clambered inside the animatronic suit, sloppily moving the spring mechanisms into place. This would be his armor. He turned to look at the small ghosts, who began to huddle around eachother. They were the prey once again. He delighted in the hunted became the hunters, then reverted back to the prey. He began to chuckle, then erupted intoa loud belly laugh.

SNAP

The guard's breath unlocked the springs that surrounded his body. His salvation was his undoing. Nearly every brittle bone in his body splintered while the force of the animatronic closing on him had ejected his internal organs from every opening in the suit. The animatronic's eyes had forced themselves into his own sockets and caved in his skull, his grey matter squeezed out through the back of the endoskeleton and stuck to every inch inside of the animatronic's fiberglass skull.

His lifeless body fell backwards. It violently convulsed against the wall as the ghosts watched. The guard tried to release one last scream in his death throes, but was unable to. His torso had been ground nearly to dust. He did not feel fear in his final seconds. He did not feel remorse for what events had led to this. He felt anger. This wans't how it wassupposed to end! He was the hunter! They were going to pay. They won't get away. They will all pay.
