The following is a, wisely deleted scene from the pilot episode of Voyager.
Capt. Janewayay: "Tuvok, how long will it take to reach the Alpha Quadrant?"
Tuvok: "Capt. I know you very well. You are an illogical, irrational human female. I know you will undoubtedly want to stop at every star system we pass, and engage in some illogical, irrational sometimes silly misadventure. Picking up pathetic, unwanted, annoying aliens, such as Mr. Nelix. No offense. But I do find you most annoying."
Nelix: "None taken, Mr. Vulcan."
Tuvok: "Getting this ship involved in numerous border conflicts, territorial conflicts, civil wars, political intrigue and who knows what else you may blunder us into. I estimate 70 years to reach the Alpha Quadrant. However, to use an old fashion Earth saying, if you'd just get off your fat butt and get the lead out, we can be home in two weeks.
