Family Game Night by ff_b
Wednesday tightened the garrote around the neck of her brother, Pugsley. "I'm sorry that you were ever born," intoned Wednesday seriously. Somehow, the boy managed to escape his sister's garote. "You're gonna be sorry for that," he taunted, reaching to gouge out Wednesday's eye with his finger. Wednesday pulled back, cobra-like, and inflicted a painful bite on Pugley's finger. "You'll be sorry you did that!," promised Pugsley. Wednesday's reply was to seize a spiked mace from the wall and chase Pugsley down the hall with it. "When I catch up with you, you are gonna be so sorry!," she assured with deadly intent.
In the family room, the giant manservant, Lurch, muttered and shook his head at the antics of the children as he served tea to Gomez and Morticia. "Lighten up, Lurch old man!," admonished Gomez cheerfully. "You were young once yourself!" Gomez settled into his chair and turned to look upon his wife, Morticia, with adoration. "The children really get into their game!," he commented.
Morticia paused from her knitting of a strange item of clothing, and smiled ever so slightly at her husband. "It's so nice to have a quiet evening at home, and watch the children entertain themselves with a game of Sorry," she sighed. Morticia then pointed to several candles on the mantle, igniting them by this action.
Outside, a hard, wind-driven rain lashed the earth, driving gray clouds across the horizon. "This is the kind of day that makes a man feel glad to be alive!," declared Gomez. Morticia nodded her agreement and turned to feed the carnivorous African Strangler plant, Cleopatra, a meatball made from Yak.
Mandy looked up from the television screen, her expression dark and unchanging. She looked at Billy and Grim seated on the couch, Grim enjoying the show and Billy oblivious to anything but his finger up his nose. Someday, Mandy would unleash a horrendous sorrow upon the human race. That would come in the fullness of time, however, and that day was not today.
"It's always good to touch base with one's roots," declared Mandy as the strange trio returned to watching The Addams Family.
