"Excuse me?"
A glare shot from the young brunette towards the woman in her late 50's made her eyes glaze with tears that she was about to shed.
"I asked how much? How much do you need for you to leave my only grandson alone."
Mai suddenly sunk deep into the earth. The person in front of her made her feel like she's a tool.
"You came from a middle-class family, and I understood that you became an orphan at such a young age, but I want to ensure my grandson's future." The lady paused and pulled out her checkbook from her black and gold purse.
"You look innocent and act innocent, but I have seen this scene all over again." Her hand started to write down numbers on the check.
"You are using my grandson for your gain." She ripped the page of the book and then placed it on the table before pushing it to Mai's side.
"I believe that the money on the check is enough for your friend's recovery, two years of rent and other expenses." Mai's face turned pale.
"I cannot let my grandson suffer like his father."
"I hope we won't cross our paths again, Taniyama-san." She stood up and carried her purse. Two men in black followed her towards the door. Mai, on the other hand, felt abandoned and confused.
Who would have guessed that a sudden visitation from her lover's grandmother turned into a business discussion?
Man, I have been watching way too many Korean dramas that I think can incorporate it with this fandom. So, I wonder who the leading guy is?
