The battle raged around Harry, wizards and witches he had known for seven years all around him. Some were dying, all were injured in some way or another, and most were losing hope fast.

Harry didn't care. What had they given him? Nothing but hate when he needed support, love when he was tired of attention, and always were they gossiping about him.

He was sick of it. He didn't care about any of them since Hermione and Ron ran off for safety. Harry understood their motives.

Move out of the country, not tell him, oh sure. Not like he needed their help or anything.

"Hawwy Pottah!" Bellatrix yelled at him, taunting him with her baby voice. "The boy-who-wived. Not gonna be that for much longer!" And then she was distracted by a spell flying towards her.

Harry turned away and walked through the carnage still being made.

Ducking and weaving through spells and bodies, Harry finally made it to the dining hall in Hogwarts, the Head Table just before him.

"I had thought you would be out there, Harry Potter, helping your friends. Why so alone?" Tom Riddle's dulcet tones met Harry's ears.

Harry didn't care.

"Why would I be?" was the response he gave.

That made Voldemort pause. It was a fair question. Still, something strange was going on.

"Because you're the savior of their world, the Chosen One, the man who shall 'defeat Voldemort'. Should you not, as a general, be out there? Leading them?"

Harry stared at Voldemort will dull eyes.

"Who cares?" And Harry Potter, aged 17, turned his back on the most feared man of his time.

Oh, Voldemort was definitely intrigued now.

"Hm. I don't suppose you'd come help me, then? They haven't given you anything. I can bring you what you want. They give you not a thought to your well-being. I, however, will bring you what you truly wish for. What do you want, Harry Potter? What do you crave?"

Harry turned around and stared at the man that had been thrust upon him as an enemy.

Harry paused, thinking for a second. A gleam came into his eye.

"I want a coffee break from 2:00pm to 3:00pm."

Voldemort stared.

"That's all?"

Harry nodded.

"Yeah, sure."

And then they began to plan.
