Dear Mama,
Everything changed. It's really cold outside. I don't know where you are and I miss you.
Two days after you disappeared, something bad happened and a virus spread around. It's like we're in one of those zombie movies.
The undead are rising. They're everywhere, Mama. They're killing people. Everyday, I see blood, flesh, dead bodies and more blood. I don't like it. It makes me feel sick.
Thankfully, Natsu found me. Even if he's my step-brother, I still feel like we share the same blood. We both wonder where you and Igneel are sometimes.
After Natsu found me, we found somebody else- his friend. Her name is Levy. She's really cool and smart! We managed to leave Magnolia unharmed but we also gathered supplies.
We all had equally large backpacks. Levy's was filled with books, food and blankets. Mine was filled with more food and medical supplies. Natsu's was basically just full of food, but he carries a duffel bag with some weapons that we took from the police station.
Natsu gave the both of us a knife. Just in case, he said. He and I knew I shouldn't have a knife on me, so he told me to only use it for an emergency and not to fight the zombies when we were out in a group. But it's not like we would purposefully separate.
Around 6 pm we were in the middle of the forest. Luckily there weren't many zombies around us so we didn't have to be as tense as we were on the streets.
While walking, Levy said that calling them zombies sounded to "movie". Jokingly, Natsu suggested that we call them "Z".
I think that sounded more "movie" than zombies, but I guess it stuck.
Around 7 pm, it became dark so we tried to look someplace to hide and give us shelter. Natsu found a small cave inside a hill so we decided to stay there.
Levy and Natsu agreed on taking night shifts while I slept, since I was the youngest.
Natsu managed to make a fire while Levy and I prepared some food.
Canned peas and potatoes.
For some reason, Natsu had found a stick of butter so we also used that. Although we didn't have alot of food, it was good. I don't know how long we'll be able to last, so we try to eat as little as possible.
Levy offered to read me a story after I told her I couldn't sleep. It was about a dragon and a princess. I liked that story.
Natsu sat close to entrance of the cave, sharpening a few knives on a rock.
Levy wrapped me in a bundle of blankets with half of what we had. She told me that since I was the youngest, I was bound to get cold faster. I think that was just an excuse though.
She kissed my forehead and told me goodnight. Levy would make an amazing mom if she had the chance.
She fell asleep beside me and I don't think Natsu knows that I'm awake, so I'll finish this for today.
I really miss you, Mama.
I hope you're well.
With love from your daughter, Wendy Marvell
