The Followers' War
A Supplement to the Story of Heradicus Bear

The First Town Falls-The Beginning of the End?

"All men able to hold a weapon follow me. The women and children stay behind," barked Heradicus. He was going to crush all that were loyal to the god Hades, lord of the dead. He had once been with them, but had "displeased" Hades and had gotten exiled. He had murdered one of the cult members in a blind fury when the unlucky member had ridiculed and taunted him. Heradicus roared, "To the next town!"
This went on for some time. He went to a town, took all of the men, and moved on. Soon enough he was unstoppable, and had nearly conquered all of the cities in Greece. He also grew rich with Drachmas, so he could buy good arms and armor.

A thin figure slipped between two buildings into a dark, narrow alleyway. He pushed his hand against a lead plate in the wall, leaving an imprint. The plate was thin enough so that the people inside could see the imprint.
"Three fingers," one observed, "Yep. That's definitely him."
The plate popped off and someone said, " We've been expecting you."
An innocent looking board on the wall fell down and a hole appeared. This was the secret hideout of the followers of Hades. As the man stepped in he looked around. Someone was putting another plate in the wall, if other's come. He kept his hands in his cloak and the meeting commenced.
"We should flee to Athens and make our base there!" one said.
"No, he would find us to quickly." Another replied.
"Lets go into the forest near the first town he took." Yet another one said.
"Yeah, that's a great idea!" the first one said. The meeting ended. The man from outside revealed his five fingered hands with a smile as he left. He had pulled two of his fingers back when he made the imprint.
"They didn't suspect a thing. Heradicus will be pleased," he remarked, smiling. Then he burst into laughter.

The War Starts-Beginning of Chaos

"They are moving to the forest near your first town," the spy said.
"Good. I would very much like to see how they fare against Heradicus Bear!" Heradicus roared with laughter.
On the tip of the horizon if you had sharp vision you might be able to make out hundreds of troops marching in the morning fields. It was a very beautiful morning too, dew glistening on the grass. Such a beautiful
morning to start a war on. When Heradicus reached the town, to his
surprise he found the wall barricaded. "Bah! The fools think they can
stand against the might of me? Men, break the gate down!" Heradicus ordered. The men start attacking the door with a battering ram. Soon the huge gate shatters under the severe pressure it was put under. When they
got inside it was pure slaughter. Then a spellcaster chanted an
incantation and a giant portal to the underworld opened, bringing many
soldiers of Heradicus in it. "DIE YOU SPELLCASTING BASTARD!" roared Heradicus as he ripped the man in two. The followers of Hades retreated,
now without the morale of their spellcasting leader. "We win back this
town, men! Let us celebrate!" yelled Heradicus with joy.
