V-Day Surprise

"…………………… Valentine's Day is nothing special to me….. Just another day…."

I sweatdropped, "Midnight Mermaid…….. Why don't you stop saying that and go play in the water?"

"I can't…….. I don't feel like it……" she said sadly.

I was extremely confused, "Why not? Just call up your boyfriend and go out."

At this, her anger flared, "Black Cat, WHY DON'T YOU GET YOURSELF A BOYFRIEND AND FIND OUT!!!!!"

I'm not one to cry, but, hearing this from my best friend made my eyes water, "Well, maybe I will……. But I will enjoy no love……. You know my past! YOU OF ALL PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW THAT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO LOVE!"

I ran out before she could say anything else. I distinctly heard Dark comforting her. 'If he thinks I did something to her…… I'm dead…. He never did like me…….No one does………….'

I kept on running blindly until I ran into something solid.

"Watch where your going kid!" said some strange guy.

I didn't look up as I said, "Sorry………"

I could feel his gaze looking over me, inspecting me, judging me, so I said, "I have to go…"

"Wait," he said as he grabbed my arm. He tilted my head up with his other hand and looked into my eyes.

He took me in his arms and I struggled, not being used to this kind of affection, "STOP! PUT ME DOWN!!!"

"Calm down. I'm not gonna hurt you….." he said as he put me down on a park bench.

I glared and took some time to observe him, but my eyes were filled with tears. I reached up to wipe them off, but he beat me to it. When the tears were gone, I looked him over. He had blue and gray hair, blue triangles on his face, and was wearing baggy blue pants, red arm guards, and a gray jacket that was covering his shirt.

He smirked, "See anything you like?"

I blushed and he smirked some more.

"Well, what are you doing all alone on Valentines Day? Isn't your boyfriend doing something special?" he asked.

I looked down, "I…. don't have one…….."

When I looked up, he seemed surprised, "Why not?"

I was surprised that he cared so much, "I…… It doesn't matter…. All that matters is that I'm alone….. and…… I had a fight with my best friend…."

"………. Well, why don't you-"

"BLACK CAT!!!!!!!"

I turned around, "Midnight Mermaid?"

She ran over and when she caught her breath she yelled, "I'M SORRY!!!!! I DIDN'T MEAN FOR THAT TO HAPPEN!!!!! AND DON'T EVER RUN AWAY LIKE THAT AGAIN!!!! DARK AND I LOOKED EVRYWHERE FOR YOU!!!"

Just then, Dark flew over, "Hey, Black Cat, who's your little boyfriend?"

I blushed. I opened my mouth to say that I didn't know, but the boy beat me to it, "I'm Kai, and we're not together… yet."

I shot up at this, "WHAT THE HELL?!?!?! DON'T YOU DARE ASSUME THAT WE'RE GONNA BE ALL LOVEY-DOVEY JUST 'CAUSE YOU SAW ME CRY!!! GET AWAY PERV!!!!!!"

With that final statement, I ran away. To where, no one knows………

Next V-Day

"Black Cat? Wake up, honey."

I was groggy and this person has the audacity to wake me up? Why I oughta- Hey! It's my boyfriend!!! …. I'm slow!

"Kai? Why are you waking me up this early?"

He smirked, "For this." With that, he swooped me up and gave me a breath-taking kiss.

He smiled, "Happy Valentines Day. I love you."

"I love you too."

"Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww……….. Isn't that cute, Dark?"

Dark smiled, "Of course……. I love you."
