It had gotten so bad Allen was convinced that the stone gargoyles' that watched over the tower could talk. Hell, they had conversations daily. He was also sure that the odd gold bird that he had found, injured, near the bell was also a figment of his imagination. It was awful, being up here with no taste of the real world. But how could he go down there, with his marred body and scarred face, and not scare the citizens. The bell tower may be beautiful for the inhabitants of the Black City, but for Allen it was a prison. Every afternoon his arms would be put to use, ringing that blasted bell. Then the sound would ring through his ears for another few hours. The sound of his loneliness. The sound of his agony. And the sound of Mana.
He remembered it like it was yesterday. When the Akuma Army had come and killed his father. Then came the white hair from the trauma and then the scar from that knife. But before he could be killed by The Lord Millennium, the head priest Cross had stepped in and saved Allen. As if this was being saved. No one knew he was up here except the head of the Church, Lord, and her…. that was it. Even the other churches inhabitants were unaware of the boy who had been living above them for 11 years. And nobody ever ventured into the tower, and if they did Allen had to hide.
Well, there was that one small boy, but with the white hair, Allen had been mistaken as a ghost.
And it was plausible why. The light cotton sleeved shirt usually hide his arm well, as did the gloves, plus it was white and breezy. Yet you could see a hint of his marred arm through the fabric.
Allen would be able to go down there, if the Millennium Earl ever let him free. Speaking of freedom now was about the time the gargoyles would start their rampage. All because of the 3rd person who knew of Allen's existence.
"ALLEN-KUN!" Came the squeal as the devil herself pounced on him. Standing up and throwing the demon off, Allen glared at the small creature that was a source of misery.
"Road." Allen said curtly and ran for the stairs. But the thing caught up to him and tackled him to the ground, wrapping her arms around Allen's neck.
"I love it when you run," she giggled and then it all went black. They were in a huge black room filled with gigantic presents. Candles floated in the air and the stone gargoyles creaked to life.
"Allen!" They hissed and scratched at him with the stone claws. "We missed you."
Road snapped her fingers after a few minutes and they disappeared, leaving Allen in his torn shirt. He looked down and was met with bleeding scratched on his stomach and chest. His arms had not been spared either.
"Now say it." Road directed and Allen spat.
"Never."
"Then see you tomorrow." Road waved and immediately Allen was on the ground again in the tower with his torn white shirt and bloody torso. He got up, pulled the shirt off, and checked the sun. Now it was time to ring the bell.
He walked up and grabbed the large rope and pulled it. 1... 2…. 3…
He continued until the last chime rung out and then he turned. And was met with a wide mouthed dark-haired girl and orange haired man.
"Shit." Allen said with a frown.
Next Chappy will introduce why exactly the two are up there, and who are they? R and R for a quicker update.
