Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter.
A/N; Because Harry is not stupid. He might be a little slow in piecing things together sometimes but he's never stupid.
Harry can't help but notice the parallels.
Voldemort had been master of the elder wand for a time. It was short, less than twenty-four hours. He was killed after boasting about his invincibility and power.
One died for power...Killed after boasting of his invincibility.
Severus Snape had also mastered the elder wand for a time, though he did it in an attempt at seeking redemption. He died protecting the son of the woman he had loved.
One died for lost love.
Harry himself, though, had donned the invisibility cloak. He had marched right up to Voldemort and thrown it off. He had been struck by the killing curse.
One greeted death as an old friend.
Harry Potter wonders if the legend was true, or if it was an oddly twisted prophecy.
When Harry really thinks about it, he gets this odd feeling in his stomach. He really can't help but wonder.
Albus Dumbledore had had control of all three hallows at one time or another. He knew what they were.
Harry wonders whether Dumbledore saw the parallels. It wouldn't surprise him.
Sometime in the distant future, when Ginny dies, he'll look at the wand in his hands, the cloak in his lap, and the stone in his pocket (All summoned to him in by his magic, uncontrolled in his grief) and he'll laugh and he'll laugh as the irony strikes him.
How, after he was struck by the Killing Curse a second time, it could be said that he greeted death as an old friend in more ways than one.
Once the laughter stops tears will come again. His mouth tastes sour, like ashes and dust and death.
His mouth tastes sour, like ashes and dust and death.
