Prussia held his new baby brother, Holy Roman Empire, and very slowly rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And while he held him, he sang:

I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living my baby brother you'll be.

HRE grew. He grew and he grew and he grew. He grew until he was two years old, and he ran all around the house. He started to gather other territories for his empire. Sometimes Prussia would say, "this kid is driving me CRAZY!"

But at night time, when that two-year-old was quiet, he opened the door to his room, crawled across the floor, looked up over the side of his bed; and if he was really asleep. Then Prussia'd picked him up and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. While he rocked HRE he sang:

I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living my baby brother you'll be.

Little HRE grew. He grew and he grew and he grew. He grew until he was nine years old. And he began to rage war across Europe. Soon Holy Roman Empire was dissolved, but Prussia still held his little brother, now know as the German Confederation. Or Germany. At night time, when little Germany was asleep, Prussia quietly opened the door to his room, crawled across the floor and looked up over the side of the bed. If the boy was really asleep, he'd picked up that nine-year-old boy and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And while he rocked him he sang:

I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living my baby brother you'll be.

Soon Germany grew. He grew and he grew and he grew. He grew until he was a teenager. He had strange friends and he wore strange clothes and he listened to strange music. Sometimes Prussia felt Germany slipping away from his control.

But at night time, when that teenage Germany was asleep, Prussia opened the door to his room, crawled across the floor and looked up over the side of the bed. If he was really asleep he'd picked up that great big boy and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. While Prussia rocked Germany he sang:

I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living my baby brother you'll be.

That teenage Germany grew. He grew and he grew and he grew. He grew until he was a grown-up independent Nation. He left home and got his own lands and people and traditions. But sometimes on dark nights Prussia got into his car and drove across town. If all the lights in his brother's house were out, he'd open Germany's bedroom window, crawled across the floor, and looked up over the side of his bed. If that great big man was really asleep he'd picked him up and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And while he rocked him he sang:

I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living my baby brother you'll be.

Well, Prussia got older because he wasn't a Nation anymore. He got older and older and older. One day he called up is brother and said, "You'd better come see me because I'm very old and sick." So Germany came to see him. When he came in the door Prussia tried to sing the song. He sang: I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always... But he couldn't finish because he was too old and sick.

Then Germany went to his brother. He picked Prussia up and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And he sang this song:

I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living your baby brother you'll be.

When Germany came home that night, he stood for a long time at the top of the stairs. Then he went into the room where his very new baby sister, Berlin, was sleeping. He picked her up in his arms and very slowly rocked her back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And while he rocked her he sang:

I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living my baby sister you'll be.
