A Little Drop of Eternity
Chapter 1
He weeps, Soft sobs and bitter loneliness runs down his cheeks. Grabs his hair, howls, potion, poison and pain tear at his body. He feels the change take over, the beast only slightly subdued. The potion usually quiets it, calms it. Not tonight.
The beast is in pain. It's mate is lost, as it had been so many times before, but this time it's different. It knows somewhere within that it will never run again with its mate. He howls again, stretches his fur, and paces the shed. Slowly the man's mind takes over, tonight the stronger of the two. Fueled by anger and a hollow pain unlike anything either being can remember.
Its my fault Sirius, my fault you're gone. I was going to tell you that day, I had worked up the courage all week. But no, Dumbledore wanted a task done for the Order. Simple, not dangerous, I jumped at it like a good little boy. I left you with that bloody house elf, told you I'd be back soon, we needed to talk. You smiled. I melted. If only I stayed, let Mundungus handle it. I could have told Harry you were all right. I could have stopped the whole thing. Damnit, Sirius I-I could have saved you!
He claws at the wall, breaking and splintering the boards, wishing it were his flesh. Anything to stop the emptiness he feels. His anger abates.
Why did you leave me all alone Sirius?!
He weeps, as much as a wolf can weep, and curls up waiting for the sun to rise.
